I look at it the way I as a brit looked at the brexit vote, people wanting change in a constant will make sure and go vote, in our case it was leave. Your case it was democrats in power so trump supporters went out made sure they voted. Where as democrats thought no way will trump win etc. Always vote.

Also remember the look on the face of friends and family who didn't vote when they realised what had happened with brexit was crazy. Now they vote in even the smallest elections held lol.

Stayed up all night watching results come in for Brexit and the ensuing meltdown. Good it inspired more people to vote haha :)

It's quiet fucked up that the pricks who organised it, didn't even plan what would happen if we voted to leave. Most of them jumped the ship and resigned! Fucking cowards

What confuses me the most is that the entire referendum was even explicitly defined as non-binding in its bill, yet everyone suddenly treated it as binding. Sure, Cameron was basically a lame duck as soon as the results hit, but still, someone else, e.g. May, could have appealed to e.g. the lack of any sort of supermajority and/or to the split among the constituent countries as well as Greater London (iirc Scotland, Northern Ireland and Greater London were Remain, England and Wales Leave) as arguments for delaying any action. An unclear result, national unity etc.

The Leave campaigners just running into hiding was indeed inexcusable, as was their obvious and utter lack of preparation for a Leave win.
