AMA Hey /r/movies, I’m Stephen King! Ask me anything about The Long Walk book or movie.
Hey r/movies, I’m Stephen King. You might know me from Stand By Me, It, or Shawshank Redemption, but my latest project is actually the first book I ever wrote. The Long Walk hits theaters on September 12. Ask me anything about the book or movie.

In a dystopian United States ruled by a totalitarian regime, a group of young men enter an annual walking contest in which they must maintain a speed of at least three miles per hour or risk execution. The contest ends when only one walker remains alive.
It stars Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Ben Wang, Charlie Plummer, Roman Griffin Davis, Garrett Wareing, Joshua Odjick, Tut Nyuot, Mark Hamill, Judy Greer, and Josh Hamilton.
I'll be back on Wednesday 8/27 at 12:00 PM ET to answer your questions.

Marcy Borders, a 28-year-old Bank of America employee in the World Trade Center, survived the 9/11 attacks. A haunting photograph showed her covered in dust after the collapse. Widely remembered as 'The Dust Lady,' Borders passed away from cancer exactly 10 years ago today, on August 24, 2015.

Image This is why you don't let employees borrow equipment
I have an employee who has an uncle with a bunch of land. We had dumped about 30 yards of excavated dirt at his house. They asked if they could use my loader to spread it. They did that and then decided to use the loader for some other work they wanted done. Needless to say, my early part of my week is now screwed

Always baffles me there are people just browsing their phone while driving.
Watched her aimlessly scrolling away on her phone, while merging onto the highway. Bonus: Checkout the parking ticket on the dash — perfection!
I’m taking a Greyhound right now so have a great vantage point on these idiots. Not nearly the first or even worst I’ve seen on this trip, but the parking ticket really did it for me. Honorable mention to the Ryder truck driver and passenger, both with both hands on their phones.

Culture What’s something in your country that is horrifying, grotesque, or just utterly insane, but that locals turn a blind eye to?
I got completely hooked on the post about the most infamous psychopaths from each country and now I’m craving more dark stuff lol
Anyway, this isn’t common knowledge for most people here, but in some remote Brazilian tribes, infanticide still happens. Babies can be killed basically for: being born with disabilities/deformities, being twins, being born too close together, coming from single or widowed mothers, showing nontraditional gender behavior, or being born from adultery/incest/a father from another tribe. Albino babies are sometimes targeted too, since avoiding the sun is virtually impossible considering their living conditions, plus they look “evil”. The Kamaiurá and Zuruahá tribes are specially notorious for this and kids over there have literally been buried alive, drowned or abandoned in the forest. The whole thing comes from survival logic and centuries-old traditions, but it really sucks to know that it still happens today and nothing is done to stop it because of all the cultural sensitivity.
Apparently, suicide rates are even higher than infanticide because, of course, elders are also seen as a burden.

Discussion Question to the community: what, in your opinion, *IS* Battlefield?
Basically title. I'm seeing a lot of controversies around every aspect of BF in here, and I feel like this is a testament to how diverse the series has been over the years, making a wide range of impressions and memories on the players, forgeing their future standards and expectations in the process.
Since the BF6 reveal, I've been in constant reflection about my own experiences with the IP, and been revisiting a lot of the olders games to really nail down what I'm really looking forward in Battlefield. And that's also why I'm super interested in everyone's take on the matter.
So I really wanted to ask: What is the core of Battlefield in your opinion, the thing you're looking for the most whenever a new game is announced? Is it being a small part of something bigger? Immersion? Teamplay? Fluid and punchy gunplay? What, to you, makes Battlefield BATTLEFIELD?
Let me know, short and long answers are all welcomed!

Soft Paywall Trump, 79, Spotted With New Bruise on His Other Hand
Advice To neuter, or not to neuter .. that is my question
I’m a first time cat owner and have had Sir Gunther with me for just over a month now. He is fully indoors and is about six months old. From my understanding, reasons to neuter are: to avoid aggression and mating with other cats and spraying when they are stressed. If he is an indoor cat with quite a laid-back life (other than his endless requirement to play), how important is it for me to neuter him? ( prompted to post after seeing someone’s neutered cat mating with their hand ).
