South African high school teachers – looking for participants for my research survey

Please share with any high school teachers you know.

I’m currently completing my Honours in Psychology at The IIE’s Varsity College Newlands, and I’m conducting research on South African high school teachers’ knowledge of and attitudes towards ADHD.

If you are a South African high school teacher, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take 15–20 minutes to complete this anonymous online survey.

No formal training or detailed knowledge about ADHD is required. Your honest responses are valuable and will help support better understanding and practice in our school communities.

Thank you so much for your time and support!

Moving to Pretoria, which suburbs should I be looking into for rentals?

Hi all!

I will be moving to Pretoria soon and I'm struggling to find areas which will suit me to rent. Can anyone suggest some areas I should be looking into specifically? I will be working in the North & West but I have a car so travelling to that area isn't an issue from me. Right now I've been mostly looking at Pretoria East but I've heard good things about Ninapark, Mooikloof.

In an ideal world, I would prefer the following: - 1 to 2 Bedrooms with a little garden/braai area - In an estate with a garage (car is black, carports are a headache) - Safety is key as I'm a single female - "Reliable" services for water & lights (I know this is an issue in Pretoria so I'm looking for more on then off) - Budget R8k max

I'm a 35+, introvert so peace and tranquility would be great but not so much that I'm afraid to drop a spoon 😅

If you can suggest some places to look at and what kind of bills will I be looking at ito rates would be great. Also travel times to the North or West.

Thank you in advance to anyone that can help!

Has Anyone ever joined the tuks sports membership (non-student)

Not a up student, am however enrolled in another institution. I've always loved sports mainly athletics but it's really hard on my body so I want to try something out of my comfort zone and tuks has a vast variety. Is it worth joining and what was your general experience like?

Free / cost-effective bee removal

Can anyone recommend a free or reasonable service or process for removing bees? A swarm moved into a spot in my yard on Thursday. I have a child and pets so I can't keep the bees. I don't want to kill them but I'm stretched really, REALLY thin, financially at the moment. I've searched online and most places charge a few hundred, or over R1k, which I just don't have right now. I'm in Garstfontein, PTA East. Any advice is appreciated.

Nail tech recommendations

Anyone know of good nail techs in the Montana, Waverley, Roodeplaat areas? I can even go a bit further out (heck I used to drive all the way to Benoni to get them done). Not interested in going to Sorbet type places.

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to visit my friends this Sunday in Pretoria/Hatfield to celebrate my birthday. Since I’m organizing the outing and don’t know the area well, could you recommend a restaurant, bakery, or market with vegetarian options? Thanks!

Post surgical support

Hi everyone,

I had a complex total hip replacement on 5 August 2025, and I’m currently in rehabilitation. Both my orthopaedic surgeon and physiotherapist have been strongly encouraging me to invest in a good pair of running shoes to support my recovery and mobility.

I’m not looking to start running just yet (that’s far down the line, if at all) — the shoes would be mainly for walking, rehab exercises, and hopefully building up my endurance safely. Comfort, stability, and shock absorption are key since I’m still protecting the new joint and also dealing with some knee/ankle strain from overcompensation.

If anyone in a position to buy a SASSA dissability pensioner a pair, it would mean the world to me. I'm not asking for money and will provide my home address for delivery or try arrange pickup. I'm not too sure which running shoes provide the best support for recovery, I’d really appreciate any help.

Thank you in advance — this could be a real game-changer for me. 🙏

Girls night

I’m wanting to do a girls night in Pretoria East. Where can we go have a nice dinner with drinks and dress up a little? Where can we go after to drink some more, dance and sing? We’re all in our 20s so we would want to avoid the student places.

Career Possibilities

Hi all

I (26M) am looking to change things up for myself career wise, I've been in hospitality for just over 8 years which is where all of my skills are within and looking for new challenges. I had applied for an overseas bartender/server position and waiting to hear back but if it does not work out I still want novelty and new challenges. I'm heading into starting a relationship with someone now aswell and just, wanting overall difference in life. In the end of it all I want to open up a coffee shop in its due time to eventually hopefully get out of the salary based lifestyle.

Any advice on which career I can look towards.

Thanks.

I know I'm wrong, but I don't have the money for a doctor's consultation. Are there any pharmacies in PTA North that sell BC without a script?
