Discussion Created my first ever Prog Rock track!

I know it's a bit rough on the edges, but I just had a lot of fun with playing the organ and guitar! I'm definitely going to try to get better at this!!!

I like it. The following are my thoughts. I think it’s too slow. Around 20 bpm would give it more air. The bass (not the fish) is a bit overpowering. There are two things that can be done. Lower the bass volume or eq the very low frequencies out.

These comments in no way change the fact that I liked the track. It’s a very good foundation and you can take the song into multiple directions. Don’t forget to stand away for a few days and come back fresh.

Good job!! Thank you for sharing.

thank you so much for your suggestions! i actually saw your post this morning and i’ve been working on improving it based on what you said :) i made it so it’s a higher bpm (i think before it was in the 140 range, now it’s in the 160 range), made the bass of the guitar less overbearing and also jus turned down the volume overall. i also tried to make it so the organs sound a bit less ugly by just replaying or editing some of the notes correctly. im so glad you enjoyed it though and it inspires me to make more prog!

I like it. It's rough but the bones for something are there. Keep at it.
