Somebody quick! Send for the physician, for I’ve come down with the case of the Midnight Mushrumps and I fear there is no cure!

My 4 year old daughter is hitting her ‘princess’ phase, and we’ve been playing Gryphon (mostly MnMr) as our ‘courtly’ music! Simply the best way to sneak a little prog over a tea party.

Has anyone gone to see the current Carl Palmer tour/event? It’s coming to somewhere an hour and a half from me this week and I’m debating taking off from work to go. Any one go? What did you think?

What are some good, kinda short instrumental prog pieces?

Stuff like Theme One by VdGG or The Spider by Kansas. Preferably by a band that typically uses vocals. Edit: Preferably energetic, not slow. Thanks yall

Cover Resolution - Mahavishnu Orchestra cover

I had a free hour away from the kiddos a couple days ago and recorded a quick cover of Resolution by Mahavishnu orchestra with a backing track I recorded. Not exactly the most challenging tune but there was no backing track to it out there so I made one by recording or programming all the parts. I’m working on improving my production skills as I want to record some original music. I’ll be uploading just the backing track in the next week or so. It’s just a hobby for me with a full time job and three kids but I’d really appreciate a like or follow on YouTube as I plan on transcribing more and making more backing tracks for more obscure prog and fusion stuff. I’d like to get more and more involved with music again over the next few years after several years away.. anyway that’s all for now. Thanks!

I want to learn a flashy guitar solo soon... Any Ideas?

Nothing REALLY hard. I'd consider myself almost intermediate. I can usually learn the solos I want to, and can transcribe them often.

Thanks!

Forcing Out The Silence, by Han Uil

Have a listen to my song Forcing Out The Silence!

"Maintaining the mood that Han masters to the fullest, 'Forcing Out the Silence' shows why this fusion works so well, as there are darker moments of gloom, rapidly replaced by more open-minded honky-tonk accessibility, a female background vocal expertly placed, a radiant solo from the avid fretboard extolling the musical prowess Uil so overtly possesses." Question/Help Looking for something very specific

I need recommendations that have the same soft, sweet, and classical feel as some of these:

The slower part of Funny Ways by Gentle Giant

Living in the Heart of the Beast - Henry Cow

Exiles - King Crimson

That violin part of Larks’ tongue part 1

A Saucerful of Secrets (album) - Pink Floyd

Portrait of Tracy - Jaco Pastorius

Soft Machine, just generally

The Gates of Delirium - Yes

Thanks :)

What are some songs with a solo in 4 but everything else in a different time sig?

Edit: not where the entire band switches to 4 (still cool though) but where only the lead instrument is in 4

Hi guys, I wrote and produced this song when I was 17 years old. I never really shared this since then. I think that this is my best song and I would like you to have a listen.
