And if they did, they're not just going away. They've got a warrant and are going to execute it.

Context: In the morning of June 29, 2014, a while a SWAT vehicle of the Weihai Police(Weihai(威海) is a city in Shandong province) was returning after a mission, the driver(who is allegedly a rookie) lost control of the vehicle which ended up driving off the road

What's funnier is the response from the Weihai police themselves:

"This driver's driving likely will take time to improve; It's Special Police/SWAT, they will do special things, please forgive him."

(in china, SWAT officers often use the term on insignia but the literal translation of SWAT is "special police")

Should be pretty clear, but:

* User temp banned a year ago for a racist remark

* He goes to brag about his ban, and complain about us, in other subs.

* Because of that, the ban is changed to perm. He's also reminded the comment is saved. Why? Cause *all the time* people delete offensive comments then message back playing dumb.

* Sure enough, he messages back a year later playing dumb about the ban

* He's "reminded" of the reason

* He deletes his 2 year old, fairly heavily used, account.

Things like biggest crime solved, most arrests made, award received, whatever.

I had a big hand in making it normal to seize cars with a warrant. We would get in pursuits and lose suspects and that would be it. Now we show up at their house and take their cars. Over the past decade this has really taken off and neighboring agencies have picked up on it. It's especially useful for those with restrictive pursuit policies.

Title basically, weird as in, people running around in groups naked, man impersonating police but doing a horrible job, things like that

2007, Newmarket Canada. 3 elephants escaped from their pen at a travelling circus. With the help of police, animal control and circus staff, all 3 elephants were safely returned with no harm to the general public (except a few local bushes)

Departments without polygraphs?

Former Alaska State Trooper here. I just sold my house and left Alaska for personal reasons and am looking for work in the lower 48.

I’ll be upfront: I hate polygraphs. I’ve passed two (AST and Anchorage PD), but I can’t stand them. I know Montana and Oregon don’t use them, but I’m originally from Montana and worked as a sheriff there — the pay is terrible and the land prices are insane, so I’m looking elsewhere.

Anyone here know which states/counties/cities skip polygraphs in their hiring process?

I’m new here and wanted to introduce myself. Right now, I work in business development with a minor league baseball team — it’s my first job out of college. A couple of years ago, I adopted a retired contract working dog, and she’s really what sparked my passion for the K9 world.

I’m interested in transitioning into the working dog industry, but not necessarily as a handler or trainer. I see myself more on the business side — K9 sales, operations, marketing, or support roles.

I’m here to learn from you all and get a better understanding of what different career paths look like in this field. Appreciate any advice, stories, or insight you’re willing to share.

Curious what the LE hive mind can recommend for an online Masters program.

Why? Because I’ve recently applied for sergeant and would like to eventually promote up the chain and education is a big consideration at my agency and many of the surrounding ones. Almost everyone above the rank of sergeant has done some kind of post-graduate work. If they don’t have a post-graduate degree, they are in the process of getting one.

I recently came into a small inheritance when my grandmother passed, and wanted to use some of the money to at least get started on a program. So now seems like a good time to start.

Open to suggestions from those who have a MA or from anyone in admin who has advice on what kind of program would be most beneficial for eventual promotion.

Hey yall, I'm active duty right now planning to separate soon. Planning on moving back to cali and do some actual policing (am an MP right now lol). Don't really wanna work and live at a small city yet, and I kinda narrowed down to SJ and LA for locations I would like to work.

Before yall start, I already know about alot of the various downsides it comes with working a big city PD in Cali, but I'm more interested on the differences within those two departments.
