Indonesian Protest Information
Hello, I am from Indonesia and I will try my best to update this post with every information I receive about the protest. Spread the word.
We're being silenced. In the past few days, I was able to see what the demonstrations are like all around Indonesia from Makassar, Surabaya, Bogor, Jogja, Solo, etc through TikTok's LIVE. I saw how people burned buildings down, how they threw fireworks all around, destroying public facilities. Now, TikTok LIVE is disabled. I can't see what it's like in real time.
Here is a break down of all the new information I got. You can check my previous post for further information but I will try to make a summary in a different post later: https://www.reddit.com/r/PrayerRequests/comments/1n2u00a/can_i_please_ask_everyone_no_matter_what_religion/
Two paramedics in Solo named Dika and Radit were dragged out of their ambulance and beaten up by police officers. When their colleagues, Bangkit and one other man reporting this incident, tried bringing them to the nearest hospital, the police officers took their keys and ran with it. Bangkit and his colleague were able to get it back thankfully.
Dika, Radit, Bangkit, and their colleague were all wearing bright green vests that clearly states "medic" in the back and according to the medic reporting this in AyoIndonesia.com on tiktok, there was the word "paramedic" in front of Dika's vest. They weren't there to protest, they were there to evacuate victims that got hit with tear gas.

In the video showing Dika's perspective, he was heard yelling "MEDIS MAS" while being dragged out and if this isn't obvious enough, he's informing the police officers that he is a medic.
At 12 AM on 31 August 2025 in Pasar Senen, Jakarta, the lights were all turned off and the police open fire against the citizens protesting there. They were all permitted to shoot rubber bullets to people's heads and unfortunately that is when the live streams were disabled here in Indonesia so no live footage is available.
Similarly, in Kwitang, Jakarta at around 10.36 PM, the police also shot rubber bullets to people.

It was recently discovered that the tear gas used by police officers has expired in 2023. If you don't know, expired tear gas can turn into poison and lead to a person's death.
According to a scientist from the University of Venezuela, expired tear gas can be as poisonous as the poison used in WW1. Not only that, the gas can turn into Cyanide that causes respiratory problems that can harm your lungs.
And just a reminder, this tear gas was exposed to children ages 4-18. My friends and my juniors had to go to school on Friday, 29 August 2025 for an event. Although some of us (myself included) were permitted to stay home, some are still obligated to participate since they were part of the event committee. Some have reported to be exposed to tear gas.

600 protesters have been arrested for looting buildings
Government officials Ahmad Sahroni and Eko Patrio have been reported to be seen outside of Indonesia. It was reported that Ahmad Sahroni, after calling the protesters "stupid idiots", had escaped to Singapore and Eko Patrio had escaped to China.
Our MP is trying to provoke us. "Divide et impera", meaning "divide and conquer", is the strategy used by Europeans when they colonized us is being used against us once more. They're making racist remarks to Chinese Indonesian people and burning down bus stops and train stations.
There have been reports that Eko Patrio's house got looted however most of us believe that it's not the protesters that looted his house, it's actually the provocators.
Gedung Grahadi in Surabaya got burned down but most of us believe that it's also the provocators that did it.
Police officers are permitted to shoot anyone now. People report that history is repeating once more slowly but surely. In 1998, a mass shooting by police officers occurred and it's happening again.

To everyone reading this, DON'T TRUST THE INDONESIAN PRESS!! THEY'RE BEING CONTROLLED BY THE GOVERNMENT
Be wary of Indonesian news anchors. Get your information from social media from creators. International news anchors are thankfully sharing this information, however they're still getting some information wrong and they're just scratching the surface. Many Indonesians, such as myself, are trying our hardest to spread the word through any and all social media we can access. Twitter, TikTok, Reddit, Tumblr, etc. Instagram had long since been unreliable as they have already been restricting posts about protests from ever getting posted.
To all the Indonesians still living in Indonesia reading this, I implore you to please prepare yourself for the worst. If you live or have to go near places that have demonstrations happening, please bring eye protection, masks, spare clothes, and self defense weapons.
Update your passport, translate your family card with a verified translator, carry cash on hand, buy enough groceries to last the week, make plans to pack all your essentials and leave at a moment's notice. They're burning down public facilities, it's only a matter of time that they get to the airports.
I'll try to update as much as possible while I still can.

London Sept 6th LTB protest advice needed.
I'm looking for the best place to post seeking some advice about attending the LTB protest on 6th Sept in London.
I'm driving down from Stoke on Trent and need somewhere to park my car and also a storage locker for my phone and laptop to avoid them being seized from my person or my address if I am arrested. I don't have anyone or anywhere else I can leave them.
I'm trying to do it as cheap as possible, I have to drive, I won't be getting a train the whole way, just the last leg from where I park. I'm aware there are tube strikes so I've been looking at areas along the lines still running, preferably the West and along the Elizabeth line. I won't be confirming online where I'll be parking but all advice greatly appreciated! TIA.
