New watcher!
Hey everyone!
I just started this show (instantly loved it) and wanted to dip into the fandom a bit—without spoiling myself. I’m about halfway through season 2, which feels like barely the beginning since there are 8 seasons. Idk, maybe this is one of those shows where everyone swears the first 3 seasons are peak? We’ll see.
Anyway, I just wanted to get a feel for the fandom. I’m in a bunch of other ones and they all have such different vibes—fandoms honestly have their own personalities.
Also… can someone explain the pineapple thing to me? From what I can tell, Shawn loves it, the show kinda rolled with it, and then the fandom took it and ran—so now it’s on literally every piece of Psych merch. Or is there a deeper meaning I’m missing? Either way, I think it’s hilarious.
Thanks for reading!

I'm addition to all the other great and accurate comments you've received, I want to mention WHY this fandom is so awesome.
Steve Franks's, the show's creator, had a "no AHs" rule. So the set and the whole process was very positive. Anytime you hear a guest star talk about their time on Psych they mention that it was amazing. Usually guest stars feel like visitors because the regulars have already established their dynamic and and are a family, so guests feel like a visitor in the family home. They all say Psych was different and they were immediately welcomed as family.
The cast and crew still have a group chat and still hang out together.
The actors who play Lassie and Jules have a podcast that is a Psych rewatch podcast and you can really feel the love they all have for each other (they bring on various guests, including series regulars, crew, and guest stars).
I don't think the podcast really has spoilers (they discuss each episode one at a time, so if you listen to a season 2 centric episode, they won't spoil something that happens in season 7), but I still think it makes sense to listen after you finish the series.
Also, some tips:
Remember the show aired at a time when you would have AT LEAST a week between episodes. Some things feel "sudden" if you're binging, but if you remember how it was intended to be watched, it feels more natural.
There are some episodes without pineapples, so don't go crazy trying to find them all.
Remember the phrase "pancake butt." The butt in question belongs to Steve Franks. It's in Season 2, Episode 16.
Watch the musical somewhere before Season 7 Episode 7. It aired out of order.
