Actually not familiar with NOTUS, but I’ll assume this is accurate reporting. So, all I can say is keep an eye on WHO. I would once favor any CDC recommendation over any conflicting statement by WHO, but we’re less than 8 months into this admin and CDC appears to be hemorrhaging leadership. At this point, it’s gonna be important to weight sources.

This is not a jab at any of the good people remaining at CDC. I work in the counter WMD space and a CDC toxicologist was my absolute savior very recently. I believe you’re all working hard to push the right things up. Whether that work sees the light of day is really the concern now.

As a CDC person I can confirm this is true. And even we don’t know what to trust coming out of the CDC website. Just know you can’t trust anything that RFKjr says. He trashes us on TV and then turns and sends us all an email trying to say how we are all great and we are all public servants etc. he will say he’s not anti vax and then try to ban vaccines or make them difficult to get. This man has been making policy for the CDC (completely not his job) since March and it wasn’t until we got a director and someone else was calling the shots he realized his power is limited so he had her fired. He makes policy based on his opinion and scientists with actual expertise are called corrupt… it is basically like your hairdresser telling you how to fix your car and to not trust mechanics.
