DISCUSSION IP role requiring only a HS diploma…Is it safe?
There is a job posting at my local hospital for an IP role, and the only education requirement is a high school diploma.
Is this a thing in other places? Is it safe?
I have only ever seen IP positions require an RN or MPH (usually preferring experience and CBIC certification as well).

Make sure it’s not a scam listing. Oftentimes they impersonate legitimate companies to scam people. If you confirm it’s not a scam, I’m sure they have this role working under more experienced people or something.

Is this in Indiana? The governor has released some his own maha and it said something about reducing/removing as many credentials as possible for roles. It didn't say anything about safety, but I'd that's a real job post, it sounds like it aligns with what the Indiana governor was aiming for.

My state has removed most of the minimum education requirements (unless written in law for professional services), but the applicant still needs a minimum of 5-7 years of experience that could be 'exchanged' for education + one year of work.
If you found the job on the company website, rather than a job board, apply and at the interview you can ask more about whats expected in the role.
