Does anyone know how I can find out whether my state is allowing administration/whether a prescription may be required? The new covid vaccines are not currently available in my state and I'm trying to figure out what the barriers to access might be.

CVS and Walgreens limit access to COVID vaccines as required by some state guidelines - CBS News https://share.google/nICwaU5eb8IqLiNFu

Not quite the issue: the issue is that those states only allow pharmacists to give shots that are approved by the CDC’s ACIP, which is scheduled to meet September 18-19, but Senator Cassidy is demanding this meeting be scuttled and a new board created, since it’s clear now that Junior has assembled a group of crackpots who want to get rid of vaccines entirely. So, good luck in those states, as we have no idea when or if ACIP approval will occur, and in the meantime, you will need to go to the doctor to get this vaccine, and who knows how many doctors will bother carrying it. And I’d get it quick, because Junior has also indicated he wants to ban Covid vaccines entirely, so I wouldn’t put it past them being gone in a couple of months. Remember, the Worm is in complete control 🐛

The question was asking if a prescription was needed. The article breaks it down. If you don't need a prescription, you self attest that you are high risk. Of course, when it comes to children, it's an entirely different ballgame.

Depending on your state, you still may need a prescription unless it is for the 2024 vaccine.

Message I see on the Walgreens website (Arizona):

COVID-19 vaccination appointments are currently unavailable pending approval of updated vaccines for 2025-2026.

Once the new vaccines are approved, appointments will be available again. Check back soon.

The CDC Bridge Access Program, which previously covered the cost of the COVID-19 vaccine for uninsured and underinsured people, has been terminated as of August 31st, 2024

The meeting for approval is either on Sept 18th or 19th. I hope they can approve it for everyone waiting!
