Hello!

I am in college currently taking a public health class. I have to write an essay about a public health institution and I am wondering what are some interesting ones to research as I am very new to the subject. I hope this is the right place to ask this question

It depends on the context of the paper, as there are many that fit the bill for “interesting.” If you’re new to the subject, look into the Tuskegee Institute and their syphilis study with the Public Health Service. The WHO, CDC, NIH, EPA, etc are very common/easy but do some really cool stuff that you could write about.

If you can do non-US locations and can reach a bit, the Nazis did some really horrifying (but truthfully very cool and important to public health/health knowledge—wrote a paper on it) experiments on humans during the Holocaust that were crucial to our knowledge of various topics today—without them we’d probably not know as much as we do about certain topics.
