We’re looking to add new junior moderators to our team due to the growth in activity we've seen over the past season, and to give new mods a few months to settle into the role before next season — when two more teams will be added to the PWHL.
Applications will remain open for at least a few days, but reviewing them may take some time. We won’t commit to an exact timeline for when (or if) new mods will be added, but you’ll receive a modmail message from us about your application after we have finished reviewing it.
Now, some of you might be wondering why we’re bringing on more mods beyond what’s already mentioned. Simply put, moderating a growing and active community takes time, more so for one that bigger then many NHL teams subs and way more active. At times, we’ve fallen short — especially when it comes to reviewing reported content promptly or approving comments caught in Reddit’s aggressive filters (or by our own automoderator settings).
Ideally, reported posts and flagged comments should be reviewed within an hour or two during North American daytime hours. Unfortunately, there have been occasions where it has taken much longer — sometimes even days — due to work and personal life demands.
I personally apologize for those delays and any frustration they may have caused. If it ever feels like we’re not listening, please know that we genuinely try to, as much as we can and strive to do better.

Hi all,
Firstly, this post's strong reception and majority of users agreeing that x/twitter links should be banned has been discussed. Starting from now, x/twitter links are banned from the sub. You are free to post screenshots if you still want to share something incase its not available on other platforms or you have to share a link you can choose to do so like this.
Like what the linked post said, we do want to encourage more use of other sites or sources.

Some guesses:
Madison, WI - UW Madison churns out more PWHL players than anywhere else and hockey is really big here.
Portland, OR - culturally, PWHL and fans would fit in really well here. Hockey is also big in Oregon.

With Vancouver and Seattle joining for Season 3, the PWHL will have 8 teams. League sources have hinted at two more expansion clubs by 2026-27, bringing the total to 10, but what if we think bigger… say 16 teams down the road?
Based on reports, interviews, and fan speculation, here are the most likely markets being discussed:
Potential Canadian Markets:
Potential U.S. Markets:
If the league hits 16 teams, a two-conference setup seems inevitable:
Possible Eastern Conference:
Boston, New York, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Quebec City, Pittsburgh, Washington/Philadelphia
Possible Western Conference:
Minnesota, Vancouver, Seattle, Detroit, Chicago, Denver, Calgary, maybe another U.S. team
Playoff Ideas:
Right now, we only know that the league plans 10 teams by 2026-27—but a 16-team PWHL feels like a real possibility if attendance, TV ratings, and sponsorship keep growing.

Two years into the PWHL, the league is home to many of the world’s best players, but for some Europeans, the pull of home remains strong.
Czech goaltender Klára Peslarová stunned Boston fans this offseason, signing with Brynäs IF ahead of the 2025–26 season. With the 2026 Olympics on the horizon, her move highlights the tough choices international players face between the prestige of the PWHL and the familiarity, consistency, and game rhythm of Europe’s top leagues.
We sat down with her agent, Eleni Demestihas of Cook Stark Management, to unpack Peslarová’s decision, the challenges for European players in the PWHL calendar, and how the Olympic year is shaping the choices of stars like Peslarová and Noemi Neubauerová.
With the recent announcement of the purchase of land for the lebreton flats arena for the sens and announcement of a new arena at landsdowne with reduced capacity, I believe the charge will have to make a decision on where they will be playing.
The main problem I see is the new arena at landsdowne is supposed to have a max capacity of 5K-5.5K, while the charge never sold fewer than 5K tickets to any game last year and often average around 7K per game. I don't suspect attendance of the team will fall off like some claim and the new arena at lebreton will offer more room to grow as well as better transit connections to the rest of the city. Not to dismiss landsdowne but it appears like they are really sizing the new arena around junior (OHL) hockey attendence numbers and I think the PWHL will draw bigger crowds than that on average. Plus the transit connections and traffic during game days leave a bit to be desired.
So what do you think? Is a move to lebreton the direction the charge should take when it comes available, or is there a way to make landsdowne work?
