Story Random Act of Kindness that bandaged my heart together
So i had an awful day today and a bitter one. I found myself in the middle of a heated argument and why? because I mentioned I am looking for students to tutor as my savings have depleted. This sentence ended up labelling me as a 'beggar' where I had to defend myself the whole day that asking for suggestions or "if you know anyone interested in learning.." doesn't mean I am asking for money. It came to a point where people started raising doubts about my qualification, saying I wrote a word all caps (used for acronym) not a normal word. It was an honest auto-fill habit. And by end of today, My heart was in nearly 100 pieces. For the last 2 hours I have been looking at this sub-reddit with an urge to create post "does kindness really exist?" but holding myself back being afraid of backlash.. and then suddenly I get a message on reddit. I posted in one of subreddits about tutoring a few weeks backs.
The person didn't required any tutoring but still wanted to know if she could help me out in any way. I won't say name for privacy purposes but She was the sweetest and most kindest person who just somehow felt the need to check up on a random stranger. Her kind words almost brought me to tears after such a brutal day.
I guess 'kindness does exist'. It finds you in the most unexpected ways!

It's beautiful that you see that!
Don't forget that the people looking for a tutor need you and are grateful for someone to help them. Ignore the folks bringing you down.

I’m so glad she messaged you right when you needed her to. Sending a hug to you, sweetheart.

I'm glad you got the positive message at the right time. Looking for extra work to rebuild your savings is the furthest thing from lazy and asking for money. The people saying that have zero notion of how much work tutoring is, you are literally tailoring learning for each individual student. That's hard work. I hope you find the right students and thrive.

I admire your entrepreneurial efforts to support yourself through tutoring. The right parents and kids will connect with you — you not only have the skills to help kids who may be struggling academically (I was one of them), you also seem like a kind, empathetic person kids can feel safe around. I have no doubt you will thrive. Ignore the naysayers — their narrow views don’t matter.

I am in a similar situation and have considered putting "feelers" out for tutoring, dog walking, etc. just so I have some source of income until I'm hired. Remember, you are in good company with many others doing the same thing. Persevere. 😀

I totally agree and if it isimportant enough for us to post then it should be respected and not bashed or downgraded. Putting our products and services out there is a form of what we do as an introduction and many people do it on a daily basis in a form of networking . These naysayers are just trying to discourage the fact that you might just be successful at it. Those are the ones that don’t matter. What matters is you

People who are willing to teach others are crucial in this world. I don't know what issues the people who brought you down had with your plans to help others grow, but ignore them.
I'm glad your day turned out for the better. It's funny how the right person can break through right when you need it most!
Hugs to you!

I’m sorry that your request led to a backlash, yet am glad that someone reached out in a positive manner. Consider searching for online tutoring opportunities. There are many students across the world that sign up for English lesson tutorials. Or narrow your search to your area of expertise. I wish you luck!

You don’t owe anyone an explanation why you are looking for tutoring work. Good on you for finding a way to use your talents to help others and yourself. Teachers make mistakes (if your use of an acronym is in some way a mistake), so I am not sure why they feel a need to criticize you. Don’t let the haters get to you. If teachers are willing to make mistakes in the classroom, and let students help correct them, it shows that learning isn’t a perfect process. Mistakes are an important tool in learning. It seems you were coming from a place of goodwill and you deserve respect.
