He is saying the truth. Atletico were playing good and attractive football in those days, and the Vicente Calderon had a good atmosphere.

Good and attractive football? No. 

They had a good year under Radomir Antic where they won Liga+Copa del Rey. More or less when Luis Figo signed with Barça.

But they were downhill from there, sucking HARD until they got relegated. Iirc that was the same season Figo joined us. 

About Vicente Calderón athmosphere, the guys bringing the "athmosphere " are a bunch of murderer neo nazi ultras and maybe we should stop praising them for it.

Bernabéu used to have a great athmosphere too when our own neonazi scum were still allowed.

Morata is close to doing something like this. Morata has played for both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. If he joins Barcelona he would have played for all the top 3 clubs of La Liga.
