The fact that being in front of someone by a literal inch means you're offside is bs tho. There is no significant advantage gained by having your foot 2 inches further than the defender or if your head is further than the defender when the ball is being passed. This isn't a racing sport.

Changing the point of measurement won’t change anything, if the rules change to where a attacker needs to be fully past the defender there will still be 2 inch offside calls that people will complain about.

Regardless, by the current rules this is an objectively correct decision.
