Can’t believe we went from only LV on the right to Trent and Carvajal V2 and Carreras with Fran & Mendy as back up. Not to mention Huijsen and Tchou.

I haven’t felt secure in the back like this in a long time

I wish Raul would come back to his form. Imagine Dean, rudri, militao,Raul and alaba in form.

People shit on Asencio now but last year he was looking like a world beater. Xabi needs to toss his name in the hat, because with confidence Asencio has all the makings to be a world class CB

He will most likely get his chance to redeem himself in Xabi's eyes once the Copa del Rey starts.

I think he was lightning, took his chance but then came back down when he signed that contract.

he had one loss of form and lost his starting place. On the one hand its very harsh but on the other this is RM. Competition should always be high.

What Im worried about is we have 5 CBs and if he is number 5, he risks becomign another Vallejo

Not the CWC, it was before. But noticably when he signed.

Gonna be a top 3 LB in the world by the end of this season I'm just calling it from now. Also I'm not just saying it based on these performances, because he pocketed olise and yamal last season and had a near perfect performance against atletico so trust me he's gonna get his recognition by next year

I didn't want to jinx it but since you've said it, top 3 LB for sure

That goal line save was so clutch

It was borderline psychic shit. He started moving towards the goal while the ball was still moving the other way

big fan of how little hesitancy he has on either side of the ball. Biggest difference to LV so far.

edit: yes, i have been corrected LV didnt play on the left. thank you

You mean Fran? LV played as a RB.

LV was never LB, and his whole season he played out of post.

LV has been playing as RB for the last 4 years, 157 matches in that position. So no, he wasn't playing out of position, he just wasn't good enough anymore to play there and here. He would never had stayed at RM as a RW.

There are plenty of cases of wingers that readapt to fullbacks to have longer careers since their performance are not enough anymore to be wingers: Young, Guardado, Navas, Valencia, Juanfran,

He oozes confidence on the ball. Something we're not used to seeing ever since Marcelo left.

Balling. Had the Sergio Ramos RB hair. Never a doubt.
