The Boston Red Sox have the lowest starting rotation ERA in MLB since June 8 (3.23).

Nathan Eovaldi
Nathan Eovaldi is done for the year after being diagnosed with a rotator tear. While I have no interest in seeing the Rangers win, it's hard not to root for Eovaldi after how much he meant to the Sox in 2018 and 2021.

Lucas Giolito
They should really rest him for the playoffs at let’s say 139.1 innings.

Sox keep rolling!
Hell of a performance for Giolito and a big congrats to Trevor Story on 200 career home runs! Great to see David Hamilton have the offensive day that he had, hopefully this can give him some confidence on the offensive end going forward to complement his defense at second base.
Although a 5-0 win, if we are being nit picky, the strikeouts continue to be a problem. Everyone struck out at least once with the exception of Hamilton and Lowe, but the team found a way to win the game and that is the most important takeaway here in this critical part of the season.
In the midst of a long stretch of games without a day off, it is crucial to have some starts like this one from Giolito to give the arms in the bullpen the night off. I am really looking forward to see what Bello can do tomorrow.
In terms of the standings, not much changed from yesterday as the Yankees and Royals won their respective games, but the Mariners did drop their game which creates a little separation with them. Although the Astros are leading their division, the Red Sox do have a better record then them which is interesting. The Mariners only trail the Astros in their division by 1.5 games so that situation will be interesting to monitor in the AL. All signs are pointing toward an Astros vs Mariners wild card match up right now, but the question will be who gets the home field advantage. Again, their is plenty of time and this could change any day.
Overall, the Red Sox just need to continue handling business like they have this week. I look forward to the next two for the Red Sox as Bello and Crochet get the nod. The next three are at home against a struggling Pirates team, so hopefully these guys can continue to string together wins.

ROSTER MOVE Trade Deadline
What teams that went all in or “more in” than the Sox are really tearing it up post deadline?
Honestly I am not mad about the trade deadline moves anymore and perhaps Breslow knows what he is doing. Maybe.

Pirates Designate Andrew Heaney
I'm not sure, but I'd have to imagine that the Sox might kick the tires right? Is he going to set the world on fire, no, but maybe he can give some late season starts/innings. Used to really like his stuff, just never seemed to pan out
