I saw Sizzla live last night and was disappointed. Firstly, the venue posted a start time of 10:30pm, I was thinking he would probably go on around 11:30 maybe 12. Well three hours later (1:30) he finally shows up and sings for less then an hour! He had some no name gusts do a couple of short bits as well.
But the part that got to me the most was that not one song was done in it’s entirety and he would do the intro to songs several times but never complete the song! Also would mute the mic during high points and let the crowd fill in; I really didn’t care to hear the crowd sing, I love Sizzla, and wanted to hear him. Doing this a bit would have been fine but it was every song. And I thought his mic was cranked up too high to the point of distortion. I love reggae and know I might get downvoted, but just wanted to share, maybe all reggae shows are like this, though Damian Marley’s was not, and I enjoyed that much more. Just my opinion. Respect.

You can’t just post 🎶West Jamaican Ketchup🎶 and expect people to know what you mean.
Edit: Because that’s the wrong lyric, Dingus. Thanks to the members of the sub who gave me the correct lyric, and the source!
The Stopper an album from 1991 is awesome. I love turning the stereo up load and trippin on the sound bouncing all over the room.

Gud gud
I love this song, but I used to listen to a different version of it, that made me fall in love with reggae. It was the original song but at a faster BPM and had cuts in it. It was featured in the Apple Music Roots Reggae Playlist around 2-3 years ago. I cannot remember what the title is or who released it.

Zigzag started as an American music centred mag in 1969 (west coast, country rock, psychedelia etc) but by 1977 it had turned itself into a punk/ new wave mag that also covered a lot of reggae.
I just found an old stash of Zigzags from the late '70s with a lot of reggae articles / interviews inc Dennis Brown, Peter Tosh, Matumbi, Inner Circle and more. This item about the original toasters I thought was quite interesting.
