u/suleymanio70 2d ago
Well, Rigby and Mordecai also eat his grilled cheese, so you can't really blame him, or the episode with the hotdog.

You can go and buy another grilled cheese. It was probably what? 7 dollars? 10 bucks max? Those were burgers that were only served once every century, and now they won't be served at all because the dudes are fucking dead.
Benson didn't get his revenge because they are his fast food grilled cheese, he was an asshole dickhead boss who ate his employees rare food because he knew they were looking forward to it after working their asses off all day to do so.
And that's the thing, he constantly screams about them being lazy, but when they actually put their asses into overdrive to get shit done they get punished for it? Then immediately tells them to get back to work after denying them a well deserved lunch break? And it's not like they were half assing the work or doing light work either, they were running around the park completing tasks. What message does that send? "Hey I don't give a shit you did all that work today, in my eyes you'll always be lazy pieces of shit that don't deserve their lunch break, fuck you"?
In that moment, Benson was the type of boss people fantasize about punching the lights out of when on their way to work.

Fair point. I always hoped that when Rigby bought that time machine for 20 bucks, he used it to go back in time to eat the hamburger.

I think stick hockey was worse. In the untimeatum episode, all they had to do was clean the garage.

I hated benson in that episode. Don’t get me wrong he’s one of my favorite characters but he was a jerk for eating m & r’s burgers even though they did most of their work. He could have let them take a lunch break & get them & have them clean the garage afterwards or he could let them get the burgers & hold onto them until they were done with all the chores.

I like to believe this was the point where they decided to stop fucking with each other's food all the time (unless I'm wrong and the one episode where they ordered that long ass sub happened way later after this episode)

I get he wanted payback with the grill cheese but he got a new one, plus he already unfairly ate their burgers so this one felt unneeded… but I guess karma caught up to him for the burgers

No, he’s their boss and it’s fair to try to teach some dumbass 23 year olds responsibility, but it’s a whole other to eat someone else’s food. Stealing is so scummy

If you watch the series in order...
This would be the 2nd time in a row he ate their sandwich...which is after they ate his Grilled Cheese Deluxe once.
So, no...it's not reasonable.

If this took place after the events of ultimeatum, I’d say this was reasonable karma for Benson.

Benson did not deserve to almost die.
17
u/MisterVictor13 2d ago
He ate someone’s food in revenge for something that happened a long time ago, which he already got revenge for. He didn’t deserve to almost die, but suffering due to his own pettiness was karmic.

Same questions here, same conversations, every single day. Really no one gets tired of this?

My personal opinion that Mordecai and Rigby were already punished enough for stealing his lunch and not working by robbing then of the only opportunity to eat the Ultimeatum but he just had to be petty and go even further and eat more of their sandwiches. 100% deserved and should have suffered even more for even thinking of being petty. He was walking a line of punishment but that line slowly crossed over to pettyness and thats where I draw the line.
While Benson is a really good and nice person to work with. He is not a good friend. If you've done something he doesn't like, he will constantly keep it in his head and be petty about it.

No but I won't give too much shit to Benson due to the fact Morcedai and Rigby are indeed lazy asses who should have been fired a while ago

No, but he got comeuppance for this. It usually happens that if Benson makes a bad call or an unreasonable decision, karma bites his ass hard.

The Ultimeatum was a fucked up play but seeing this made me laugh. But even then you don’t eat another man’s sandwich on both sides
y’all remember what happen to Ross when he found out someone ate his sandwich?
1
u/Zerocrash_ 2d ago
...not really, you could attempt to make an argument on the burger thing, but bro really decided to eat their sandwich to be petty

I mean he did say they are his sandwich so it’s a certified payback but he didn’t know it will kill you (cuz what type of sandwich kills the customer?)

Hell nawl I like to eat, AND I ONLY GET IT ONCE!? Two people in my life have wronged me like that & it was my mom and my bf and they’ve never done it again cause I gave them hell for it. Benson would’ve had to fight me every time he ate my food out of spite.

Yes and No
Yes since Mordecai and Rigby did eat his grilled Cheese Deluxe
No as the duo has since learned their lesson regarding the first point

How did he even know it was theirs and not someone else’s?

u/SoProBroChaCho 2d ago
I wanna say there was a scene of them leaving it on the table and going to get something else, Benson seeing that, and then them coming back to find him collapsed or whatever, but idk, its been awhile since I watched it

u/mr_eugine_krabs 2d ago
If benson wanted to teach them not to eat his food he should have hidden it instead of eating it like a wild animal in the park.

Am I only one who wants to see mordecai and Rigby try to make the ultimate burger

u/MetalSonic420YT 2d ago
This is when he tried to get his getback for when Mordecai and Rigby ate his grilled cheese sandwich, but we all know how this turned out.

u/AccomplishedCold5779 1d ago
None of this would've happened if it weren't for Rigby's "speciality".

u/Ok_Coyote269 1d ago
He probably want revenge on Mordecai and Rigby for eating his grilled cheese deluxe. I honestly find it kinda funny that Benson got karma for taking a bite of the death sandwich. But hey, At least he didn’t die in the end

I honestly wished Benson didn’t survive because he really pissed me off during that burger episode and this is karma
10
u/Dull-Ad555 2d ago
That’s a bit harsh, don’t you think?

u/Rimuru_The_Junior 2d ago
I don’t really like Benson in general especially for that burger episode. Benson had so many chances to fire Mordecai and Rigby but didn’t

u/Under_TheBed 2d ago
Well… Mordecai and Rigby ate his grilled cheese, so Benson ate the burgers, then he doubled down and ate this sandwich as well… only to find out
