I'm a 42 year old man. So when Victorious was on, I was not the target audience. I used to love it so much. I still do, but I used to, too.

Victorious didnāt give us the banger that is Microwave Wings so Iām going with Regular Show.
That and, while still being a parody, it also shows Benson and Rigby getting to know each other even better and developing further as characters.

Victorious did it better. Focused more on mundane, relatable plot lines unlike regular show.

The Victorious one was like a shitpost version of the movie xd. RS was more of a homage

yeah emotionally bonding with your classmates is cool and all but the other 2 didnāt have Hair to The Throneās recipe concept album with the hit song āMicrowave Wingsā

Vegan instead virgin for whatever reason

To be fair, It's pretty understandable why they made that change. It's a Nickelodeon show, after all. You're not going to have the characters actually say virgin.

Sure, but they also put a weird amount of emphasis on all the censorship changes. The taco one drove me nuts every like 2 minutes.Ā

Now that you put it like that, that makes sense. Teenagers making a big deal out of one of them still being a virgin makes sense, especially for a movie in the 80's. But even for a kid's show, teenagers making a big deal out of one of them choosing not to eat eggs or chicken or whatever is kinda a stupid premise. Plus, there is no way a kid who watches Victorious in 2011 knows anything about The Breakfast Club to at least understand that these are supposed to be references.

Yeah, I remember seeing the episode and thinking "Who is this for?"
The Vegan thing is extra weird when you consider they're in a school of performing arts in LA... at least a third of those kids are Vegan.

I mean, I LOVE Regular Show and all (it's my most favorite show ever), but I do enjoy the Victorious version a bit more. It's what introduced me to the movie, actually.

Iāll never understand why people would ask these kinds of questions on the subreddits that only focus on one of the choices

Victorious's version was very much a parody of the original. Regular Show's was a homage. They're not really the same thing. But I'll say Regular Show.

The victorious one was weird because the target audience at the time it came up definitely did not watch Breakfast Club š

Regular Show is the only parody of The Breakfast Club Iāve seen that actually plays on the filmās themes, and it fits well in having it be used as the backdrop for Rigby and Benson getting to understand each other, therefore making it one that you can watch, understand and enjoy even if youāve never seen āThe Breakfast Clubā (like me when I first saw it. Saw the movie a couple years later and then it all clicked). While every other parody of it just takes the basic premise of having people in detention, and parodying the dancing scene.

Asking this at the Regular Show sub is crazy š
