Discussion Just a random question, but what are your guys's opinions on Rigby's Brother Don

Couldn’t find a picture of him during his martial arts test or in his tuxedo during one of the last episodes, but what you guys think. I honestly really liked him as a character, I liked how no matter how much Rigby hated him he would be there when he needed him. He was super nice, kinda funny and really cool at the same time, him not finalizing on the park audit until Ruby gave him some sugar was funny to me. My only problems with him are that he had to specifically be told by Rigby that he was constantly overshadowing him by being this cooler more fun person, and while this next part isn’t his fault, I just just don’t like how their parents (especially their father) kinda hated Rigby and absolutely loved Don for simply having a better more important job. I love him as a character and I kinda with he was in at least one or 2 more episodes.

Sorry I thought about "Hey Ya!"

Hes the brother that you hate on because hes more successful than you but fail to see the hard work he put in to reach that goal.

Rigby could have been at his level but hes too busy being a SLAAAAACKEEEER 😡

7

u/Fit-Brief3317 3d ago

Soda machine that doesn’t work, send them to the moon

Ps: ik grammar is wrong but if you pay attention that’s the actual line in the show😭😭

"YOU DRILLBIT"

37

u/Lucarioismadpt2 3d ago

He got there eventually. Thats what counts right? Rigby just needed the right motivation. In his case it ended up being eileen.

22

u/Known-Obligation8119 3d ago

One of the best cartoon relationships ever, she really did fix him

22

u/Polibiux 4d ago

Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?

124

u/Easy-Individual909 4d ago

I like him. He's wholesome. He didn't crashout when Rigby totalled his Corvette and instead tried to get him to convince their dad to let him borrow his car 😂

41

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

Name another brother who would do the same, he’s super nice

162

u/ScreamSteam 4d ago

I’d give him some sugar anytime

43

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

Me too, I bet he gives the best hugs

I wish he had clothes on

33

u/Shiny_Agumon 3d ago

For real his anatomy is too human so it just looks weird

23

u/Carolina_Cowboy0718 3d ago

Remember he stopped wearing clothes because he thought it was cool that rigby did it.

36

u/verify_deez_nuts 4d ago

I'm thankful he doesn't. If you or I were jacked like he is you'd be shirtless too.

1

u/TheBlackCaesar 2d ago

This guy can’t help think about his chad lol

1

u/cola_frog 2d ago

I wish he shaved his fur so I can see more of him

29

u/ArosNerOtanim 4d ago

He's a cool guy I understand Rigby's issues with him, but none of them are actually his fault and I don't really blame Rigby for them either cause honestly the show can be unnecessarily cruel to him.

It's a very unfortunate situation that he feeds into Rigby's inferiority complex he doesn't do it intentionally in fact, ironically, he looks up to Rigby and the miscommunication definetly didn't help heck Rigby, probably felt he wasn't worth looking up to. One thing to note about Rigby is when he has a problem, he either doesn't voice it and lets it build up or gets ignored when he does talk about it, and it still builds up.

Absolute unit

5

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

Yeah he his, he’s strong and talented

18

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

Sorry I forgot the second comma after the word brother please don’t hate for that lol

14

u/joshtothe 4d ago

The sequence where he steps out of the convertible was the hardest Regular Show ever made me laugh

8

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

I know right, makes it seem like he’s as tall as Rigby

11

u/pumpkinwizard85 4d ago

He’s hooked on that sugar.

8

u/EyeSweaterGawdBrah 4d ago

He's definitely packing 😭

9

u/TayoEXE 3d ago

Honestly, I think that while he's portrayed as perfect, I like that definitely has a problem with being naive and a bit clueless. It allowed for a real moment of growth for both him and Rigby. I think it's really wholesome that despite everyone telling Rigby he's a screw up, failure, slacker and in every way inferior to Don, Don himself had always thought the opposite. Looking up to his big bro despite his life being so much more perfect on paper, I enjoyed seeing that despite all the crap Rigby gets in his life, even unfortunately from the misunderstanding and comparisons to his younger brother, he has had the ultimate fan all his life right there. He just wants to be close to his bro and "cool like him." Don's faith in Rigby may be naive and misplaced a lot of times, but it's nice that in the end, Rigby did prove himself and overcome his lazier tendencies and achieve some great things. Evidently, he's a good father and husband and grows, so it's like Don could see his potential all along.

Plus it's hilarious that he stopped wearing clothes because Rigby did it first, thinking it was so cool. 😂

8

u/SorryNotTalking 4d ago

I don't like the bulge (also doesn't it imply Rigby is small down there since he doesn't have one)

6

u/Sufficient_Virus_321 4d ago

I think it’s just showing Don is much bigger and more fit physically, I guess displaying him like a poster image for a perfect dude to play along with Rigby’s perception of him

7

u/Cronicfangirl2 4d ago

I think he’s fine. I just find him a bit too human shaped to be comfortable with him not wearing clothes.

5

u/No-Pen1489 4d ago

It's crazy that he's taller than him as his little brother.

21

u/Easy-Individual909 4d ago

Believe me, as a younger sibling, I am also taller than my older sister. I think it's more common that not

3

u/always-squeegee 4d ago

I’m a younger sister taller than my older sister by a good six inches

5

u/AlternativeFlower541 4d ago

As a representative of everyone named Don to some degree (Don, Donnie, Donald, Donathan, etc), this dude is pretty cool.

6

u/Disastrous-Bench-468 4d ago

Given Rigby had kids post finale, he'd have to of been an amazing uncle.

4

u/CGcg85 4d ago

I thought that Don is a sweet guy someone I would like to hang out with and I wish there were more episodes of Don in the show.

2

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

Me too, I don’t think he got enough screen time

4

u/rjrgjj 3d ago

His character design and mysterious bulge both disturb and intrigue me.

7

u/itsmejam 4d ago

A cool guy, he deserves sugar anytime he wants

3

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

He really does

3

u/battlefranky69 4d ago

I wish he was my brother. I don't have any brothers but he seems like a great one to have.

3

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

Same, I’d love to spend time with him

3

u/larrylongboy 4d ago

Lmfao did he always look this uncanny?

1

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

Uncanny?

2

u/Fair_Smoke4710 3d ago

It’s probably because his anatomy is so human like minus his head and tail

3

u/MrKidd_49 4d ago

I liked his character.

3

u/Chronarch01 3d ago

I think he's fine. Rigby was just being an overly dramatic jerk.

3

u/supposedtostudyXD 3d ago

he ain’t gotta ask me twice for some sugar

( ✌︎'ω')✌︎ ✌︎('ω'✌︎ )

3

u/Volks1973 3d ago

Maybe gay

3

u/the-poopiest-diaper 3d ago

I love that he’s just Rigby with an attractive body. That is such a funny gag to me. Like in the bottom left of the fourth slide when he’s asking for some sugar. His legs are open and you can see a slight bulge at the crotch, and it makes me think “STAY AWAY FROM THAT MAN” but he’s genuinely such a cool dude who just wants to love his brother

3

u/Windflow009 3d ago

Rigby and Don's parents are true scum. The dad was just straight up abusive, and the mom was his enabler.

3

u/ImurderREALITY 3d ago

He's the classic "I'm unintentionally better than you at everything, while also genuinely being a great person who everyone just happens to like more than you" type of antagonist, like Doc Potterywood from Community.

2

u/Mechancic-Hero 4d ago

He gets his coolness from his big brother

2

u/OwO-animals 4d ago

He is terrible.

Throughout his life he had everything, he was popular at school and successful in education and career, all without having to put effort in.

Meanwhile Rigby was the opposite, even when he did put in the effort, he was met with hostility and bad luck so instead he gave up on those goals.

You meet people like Don every now and then, they aren't always successful, but they treat almost everyone extremely well. And that's an issue, while a lot of people are drawn to such individuals, some like their family, partner or actual best friends, may feel undervalued. Like imagine if your brother treats you equally as any person they meet? That's not nice. But imagine if someone is successful and popular and they appear to have way better chemistry with those people, well now you appear lacking or like a 3rd wheel. It's frustrating and awful. Rigby was at all times, straight up entitled to being envious of those people. They didn't deserve all this positive attention, he did, he was family and he was the one who cared about Don because they were family, not because Don was cool or successful or anything, but because he loved like like a brother. Rigby bottled up these feeling his entier life.

And that's the issue here, Don was emotionally deaf to this problem all the while Rigby was suffering every time he was near Don or when Don was mentioned. And it only gets worse as everyone at the park sides with Don, proving once again that he gets everything for free and that Don still appears to care about everyone else more than about Rigby. It wasn't just park, it was everyone, even his parents.

And he has an audacity to demand a little sugar from his brother, placing condition on helping him when he never even once acknowledged Rigby. Instead of sending a message "I'm always there for you because I love you" it sends "I'm always there for you, because you need me and you are nothing without me" And it's not like Don does this maliciously or on purpose. He is genuinely kind and cool, but he doesn't have his priorities right.

So the entire situation resolves once they finally talk about their feelings. Once Don makes it clear that he loves Rigby as a brother and that he is more important to him and that even someone like Don finds a lot of Rigby's traits admirable. This is extremely important to Rigby, as he didn't hate Don because Rigby was an ass, he hated him because Don never even once showed to care about Rigby in a meaningful way to him, while also indirectly rubbing everything into his face. Lets say a young Rigby would even bring this issue to Don, well Don would say he likes him and then Don would say he likes his other friends too, devaluing Rigby again, probably right next to him. So what was needed, was for Don to realise that his brother was envious and that he was right to be envious and only when this happens and Don makes it clear that he cares about Rigby more than those other people, can they finally mend the fences.

Or to put this differently, if you treat everyone like your best friend, then you will have no actual friends. If you do this to your family, then you will have no family. Not every individual is going to get affected this way, but it is not a wrong way to respond to such treatment. And it is Don's fault for not realising this on his own.

4

u/Effective_Tip7748 3d ago

Don had his own emotional stunting being made the family’s golden child

He was oblivious yes, but not malicious

If he had known he would have acted differently. The reason he didn’t know was essential because of their toxic family dynamic and his own rose colored glasses

2

u/False_Huckleberry418 4d ago

Cool dude that balances being cool, sweet, and respectful. Wish we saw more of him.

2

He is like Drew from everybody Hates Chris.

I blame the parents. You play favorites, of course, the sibling rivalry is gonna be bad and escalate.

2

u/WolverineFamiliar740 3d ago

It'll never not blow my mind that he's voiced by PAUL from Pokemon.

2

u/Prudent-Driver259 3d ago

Him always taking the spotlight over rigby was hilarious. Rigby was so DON with him

2

u/vviolaviolet16 3d ago

i wish my brother was like him

2

I don't think he knows how important HAMBONING is.

2

Love don but damn could he have shared some of those big brother energy genes with his big brother .

2

u/JudgeJoBrown05 3d ago

I want him to come gimme sum sugar.

And he’s p chill.

(And also mad shredded)

2

u/Enahs_08 3d ago

it's like I'm watching a naked man

2

u/Extra-Lemon 3d ago

My mind reads him as "more" naked than Rigby.

Mordecai and Rigby run around without clothes all the time, no problems. Dan? It was lowkey awkward when he was on the screen.

...actually, if memory serves, isn't he actually naked? Like... he stopped wearing clothes to be more like Rigby?

2

u/Live_Ad_9288 Pops 3d ago

he deserves some sugar

2

u/Letmebefreefromitall 3d ago

He's a chill guy, probably gives the best bear hugs

Ron is sugar and Rigby is Meshuggah.

2

u/ShadowWolf4984 1d ago

When I saw Don for the first time, I thought he’d look like Rigby but then…..damnnnnnnn! He’s a very hot with a muscular body!

2

u/danman8075 4d ago

I don't own any "guys", so I don't know what their opinions are. but if you mean "what is you guys' opinions on Don", the answer is that he's the best.

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

Sorry, usually I’m on top of my grammar but this is the second time I’ve uploaded this post and I just didn’t want to do it again

1

Uncomfortably hilarious to look at and listen to.

1

u/Particular_Sun_3504 4d ago

I honestly think he looks and sounds fine

1

u/BahamutAXIOM 4d ago

So does the cast of Regular Show, lol. That's why he's hilarious.

1

u/TAI-LEMNE 4d ago

I wish i had a brother like him. I guess l must be the brother that is like him.

1

u/SummertronPrime 4d ago

Eh, he's nice, and that's about it. If we dig a little further, he was always nice to Rigby and Rigby wasn't kind in return because his brother was clearly favored and treated so much better than him. Don didn't participate in that actively but he idd passively

1

u/SilverSpider_ 4d ago

HES NOT THE OLDER BROTHER!?

1

u/surreal-amoebas 3d ago

Idk i always got a weird vibe from him

1

u/Sometimezay 3d ago

Pretty chill

1

u/Effective_Tip7748 3d ago

I really liked how Don helped Rigby in the bank shot episode

Don was the golden child in their toxic family dynamic and Rigby was the scapegoat

The fact that Don is a balanced, friendly, loving guy is a testament to how solid he is

Rigby is lucky to have him as a brother (and Don already adores Rigby to the moon and back)

1

u/El_Rey_Fenix 3d ago

That he is a boss, that he is undervalued and that he did not deserve to be mistreated by Rigby.

1

u/JMTpixelmon 3d ago

HATE HARE HATE, I HATE HIM SO MUCH. THAT HANDSOME DEVIL RIGBY IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN HIM. I BET HE STILL HAS BOTH BUT CHEEKS.

1

u/270ForTheWinchester 3d ago

If you can get over the fact he's not wearing pants...he's pretty chill dude.

1

u/AgtBurtMacklin 3d ago

As the less cool little bro growing up, I sympathize at a very base level, but Don is very cool and nice, and Rigby is a massive turd in this episode.

It would be different if Don was a bully, but he is a cool dude.

(I know Don is the little brother technically)

1

u/Old-Astronaut1997 3d ago

Good people, calm guy and nice to talk to

1

u/Geeky_Punk_92 3d ago

He's kind of like the older brother a lot of people wish they had. He's just super nice, and understanding. He has that quiet inner strength to endure whatever craziness is happening. All around good guy.

1

u/igirl2000 3d ago

Love Jim but hey maybe remind your dad to invite Rigby to the family and actually show love

1

u/Big-Slide6104 3d ago

He reminds me of my roommate/friend. A large buff African American who constantly quotes Don’s “gimme some sugar” 💀

1

u/Creepycute1 3d ago

I think Don is perfectly fine obviously he didn't mean to hurt Rigby or anything :(

1

u/Curious_Scientist391 3d ago

Needed pants.

nice guy

1

u/Cheezers447 3d ago

I’m with Rigby he sucksss

1

u/TheAirIsOn 3d ago

He’s so uncanny looking. But a cool enough guy that loves his big bro

1

u/TheBlackArrows 3d ago

He constantly requires sugar.

1

u/This-Honey7881 3d ago

Super underrated

1

u/MICKTHENERD 3d ago

I like Don, it may seem weird that it had to be pointed out to him that Rigby was in his shadow, but he's also clearly young and naive(Rigby was only 23 at the time) and probably didn't notice the favorites he got from Sherm in lieu of the harsh criticism Rigby received.

1

u/Fuzzy_Emphasis5154 3d ago

1

u/Glittering_Move9862 3d ago

In my opinion I found him annoying

1

u/DinoDracko 3d ago

He's a nice dude. Despite being favored by the parents most(Mostly the dad), he doesn't belittle Rigby or look down on him, or become narcissistic simply because he is clearly better than him, instead he still looks up to him as a good big brother, he even imitated him(Haircut, not wearing clothes). Also, he willingly lent his car to Rigby, and wasn't even a little upset when his Corvette got totalled during the Food Run.

1

u/SukanutGotBanned 3d ago

Absolute piece of shit, no question. Guy was on the Epstein list

/s

1

1

u/Present_Welder1357 3d ago

When he said he started walking around naked to look like Rigby I lost my shit 🤣🤣

1

I think its funny they decided to make him much bigger than rigby but look exactly like him. It usually is like this irl too

1

u/Allikam 3d ago

I had a crush on him, nothing changed

1

u/Particular_Sun_3504 3d ago

Makes sense, he is pretty hot

1

“I told u to stay in the basement” always kills me

Give that man some sugar!

1

u/LandonHarms 3d ago

He's a good dude. And he deserves some sugar

1

u/blackops2611 3d ago

Best side character. GIMME SOME SUGAR

1

u/Original-Recipe3706 3d ago

I like him he is a reliable guy.

1

u/toastboy6789 3d ago

He is a chad since despite his parents prefered him more he still loved his brother and didn’t act like a bitch

1

u/slyanimeecchi 3d ago

Better version of ribgby 😭

1

u/LexKing89 3d ago

I think he’s pretty cool to be honest. He’s successful and drives a C4 Corvette while still being a nice dude.

1

u/hood_carti 3d ago

Someone you can count on even though he can be annoying

1

u/Biiiishweneedanswers 3d ago

I just want to see him, Rigby, and the original set of parents interact at the dinner table.

1

u/Dragonraja 3d ago

Great Episode. Don's a solid dude and deserves some sugar.

1

u/Akame_Xl 3d ago

Real one he really tried to put people on

1

u/Gaming-Nomad 3d ago

He’s like the cool brother I never had.

1

u/SoundBlasterYT 3d ago

I want give him some sugar and he’s a cool dude

1

u/Slowly_Spiraling-06 3d ago

I wanna give Don some sugar. I love Don loll.

1

u/Acceptable-Fig-8917 3d ago

i actually never liked his design, I know it supposed to be for comedic purpose but i never like his design.,

1

u/wolfpackk962 2d ago

I always loved Don. I love how he's written so even we as the audience can't help but like him adding to the joke and furthering Rigby's point. Also love how there wasn't a twist that he's actually evil or something like that. Would of made him much less memorable.

1

u/laughoutloud102 2d ago

Give him some sugar

1

u/Brief-Resist3197 2d ago

He is honestly goated cuz of how nice and supported he was I enjoyed seeing him on the screen

1

u/-a-b-c-d-3 2d ago

He needs clothes.

1

u/Mundane_Librarian_62 2d ago

He’s majestic

1

u/MedicalPitch9830 2d ago

A cool guy who deserves sugar anytime.

1

u/Gerard192021 2d ago

i can’t believe paul’s va voiced him, if paul’s the devil, he’s the angel, and daria’s dad jake is in between

1

u/heyboy101 2d ago

Gimme sum sugar

1

u/rousakiseq 2d ago

It's more about the episode itself, but I enjoyed the twist on the trope I absolutely hate where "the new guy" barges into the cast's lives and everyone loves them except for one character who's suspicious/jealous, and in the end the new guy turns out to be evil or an asshole, proving that one character right.

Instead, Don was genuinely just a cool dude, Rigby was the prick, and in the end they hugged it out.

1

u/Previous_Resource_58 2d ago

he’s a chill guy

1

u/SphinxLux 2d ago

He is chill. Doesn’t cause any issues on purpose.

1

u/Leading-Angle-9314 2d ago

I’d give him some sugar!

1

u/Lotus532 2d ago

He's a good guy. Rigby was initially a terrible older brother to him, but that never really changed his good nature. And it is nice seeing him and Rigby's relationship progress in later episodes.

1

u/Weary_Sale_2779 2d ago

I love how the rest of his family has humanoid bodies and he's just taught up raccoon 🤣

1

u/Salt_Worldliness7976 2d ago

GO GIVE HIM SOME SUGAR 👹👹

1

u/JunketDense9200 2d ago

Don’s the goat

1

u/Environmental-Leg358 2d ago

all i can say is GO GIVE HIM SOME SUGAR🗣️💨

1

u/Perfect_Masterpiece3 2d ago

Hope he does well with the Debit.

1

u/ProudPakistaniboy 2d ago

Seems like a chill guy

1

u/invadar789 2d ago

he's so pure 🥺

i wish we got more of him tbh

1

u/Royal_Art_8217 1d ago

I think I’d prefer him to have booty shorts on cuz he’s kinda uncomfortable to look at

1

u/ShadowLord355 16h ago

Isn’t he his younger brother

0

u/Famous-Size-3917 3d ago

The character is good I suppose but the design is so off-putting. A man-sized, humanoid raccoon naked with a smooth crotch and THAT voice? I usually skip the episode lmao.
