Respect The Graboids!

The town of Rural Perfection is not known for many things. Home to a population of less than 20, with the main attraction being a knick-knack store, life is simple in this stretch of land. That is of course unless the town happens to be situated on the dwelling of an ancient species of gargantuan worm.

These are the Graboids, a species dating back to the Precambrian era that had laid dormant for nearly 300 hundred years before finally reamerging. These massive creatures burrow through the dirt, and track their prey by sensing the vibrations made against the ground, before inevitably swallowing them whole. It would take more than just a firearm to take them out, and the entire town of Perfection would have to come together to save themselves from being food.

However, like all creatures on this planet, the worms reproduce. After enough food is consumed, the Graboids will release a pack of Shriekers, small bipedal creatures which hunt their food through infrared detection. Shriekers multiply like rabbits, and given enough time, will evolve into the aptly named Ass Blasters, hunters who propel themselves using a burst from their rear end, and can glide using the wings on their backs.

Whatever the case, if you happen upon a group of these things, you better pack yourself some mighty firepower, whether it be improvised explosives, cannons, or any degree of gun you can find; else, you better count your days. Or just call Burt Gummer. He’s usually the go-to guy for this sorta thing.

Notes:

• All Feats from seven movies will be labeled 1-7 respectively. All Feats from the TV show will be labeled E#, depending on the episode they are from.

• In the third film, Tremors 3: Back to Perfection, we are introduced to the infertile Graboid El Blanco. He sticks around for the entire TV Series. All feats from him specifically will be labeled [Blanco].

• In the fifth film, Tremors 5: Bloodlines, the film follows a variant of Graboid that lives in South Africa. Any Feats from them will be labeled [SA].

• In the sixth film, Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell, the film follows a variant of Graboid that lives in arctic Canada. These feats will be labeled [AR].

• In the seventh film, Tremors: Shrieker Island, the graboids were genetically bred to be stronger than normal. These Feats will be labeled [GM].

The Graboids

Graboids are large, worm-like creatures with no eyes, and three pairs of tentacles that extrude from its mouth that it uses to hook prey and drag them underground for consumption. The Graboid hatches into typically three Shriekers, which evolve into the ass blasters, which carries eggs of the Graboids⁵

• Here is a full look at the body of the graboid. It uses sharp spikes across its body to propel itself through the dirt.¹

• As the creatures are blind and deaf, The Graboids use seismic activity to detect their prey¹

• Graboids hatch from eggs, which can lay dormant for 300 years³

• When fully grown, the graboid can stretch up to 10 meters in length and weigh 20 tons. Their tentacles can stretch up to 3 meters in length⁶

• Recently hatched, Juvenile Graboids are far smaller, and instead launch themselves out of the ground to attack prey⁴

• [SA] The South African Variant is far larger than the typical graboid⁵

• [SA] As opposed to the typical graboid, the tentacles of the south african variant are able to disconnect from the main body and move freely⁵

Movement and Charging Power

• As the Graboids move through the ground, they cause noticeable seismic activity as well as convex of the dirt¹

• After a powerjack is imbedded into it, it pulls it through the concrete along with the man who was using it¹

• Takes out multiple fence poles just by digging under them, and then proceeds to ram itself hard enough into concrete to break the structure and kill itself¹

• Kicks up wooden planks of a building as it digs under them¹

• Breaks the the floor of building¹ [1]⁴ [2]⁶

• Pushes through a shelter’s concrete wall¹

• Flips a trailer by pushing up from below it¹

• Over a long period of time, eventually causes an entire shop to begin to collapse¹

• Kicks up oil drums as it digs past them²

• Grabs onto a chain attached to a car and pulls it around²

• Ripped a carriage in half and ate the man inside⁴

• Begins to tear down a powerline pole⁴

• Digs fast enough to bifurcate itself on a buried saw⁴

• Causes the collapse of a large tent⁴

• Throws a massive trailer airborne⁶

• [Blanco] Causes the collapse of a patio roof^E1

• [Blanco] Bursts through the floor of a building^E1

• [Blanco] Digs Around Fast^E9

• [SA] Jumps high into the air to eat someone beneath it⁵

• [SA] Massively cracks a concrete slab by charging into it⁵

• [SA] Digging and charging underground does large damage to multiple structures in a village⁵

• [AR] Launches a car airborne by charging into it⁶

• [GM] Begins to push through the concrete wall of a war bunker⁷

Durability and Resistance

• After a pickaxe is embedded in its skin, it simply pulls it out¹

• Takes a massive amount of gunfire from all different sorts of firearms before finally parishing¹

• Seemingly resists an improvised explosive going off right by it¹

• A Juvenile Graboid digs through a campfire unharmed⁴

• Juvenile Graboids do not have the resistance of their grown counterparts, dying simply to a pickaxe swing⁴

• Ignores bullet fire⁴

• [Blanco] Ignore an ultrasonic attack of “10,000 Cycletones”. The device may have also just not worked^E1

• [GM] It digging triggers multiple planted explosives, all of which seemingly do nothing to stop it⁷

• Manages to stall a car for a period, though eventually gets ripped off¹

• Neutralizes a horse¹

• Pulls a plank of wood attached to a woman to bring her closer, breaking the wood in the process¹

• Grabs a suitcase from a person and pulls it into its cave⁵

Intelligence

• Intentionally pushes over a store shelf to knock a woman off of it¹

• Intentionally dug a sinkhole in order to get a group of people off of a vehicle¹

• Shoots a swallowed pipebomb back at the people who threw it¹

• Val correctly predicts that a Graboid is pretending to not notice them, and is waiting for them to move¹

• Since it cannot break through the floor boards of a building, it begins to rip each one off with its tentacles⁴

• Implied to have purposely attacked a massive cannon that was going to be used to kill it⁴

• Operates a harpoon gun with its tentacles to shoot a person^E6

• [AR] Grabs a guy’s machete with its tentacles and throws it away⁶

• Detects the sound of a person chewing gum³

• Is set off by the jingle of a man’s keys⁴

Miscellaneous

• Burt Grumer was still alive for some time after being consumed by a Graboid, and was eventually freed after the creature was killed and gutted³

  • This leads to Burt being infected with a microbe that begins to kill Burt. The only antibody can come from a live graboid⁶
  • This infection causes extreme pain within burt, causing him to keel over and eventually pass out⁶

• After a person was consumed, they were able to cause the Graboid to throw them up by firing a gun inside its gut⁵

Shriekers

---

After eating a sufficient amount of food, the graboid will die giving birth to the next stage in its life cycle, the shrieker. Shriekers are pact hunters that attempt to overwhelm their prey by sheer numbers.

• The shrieker is different from its ancestor in that it uses an infrared sensor on its head to detect the heat off of creatures and objects to target them. In addition, it communicates with other shriekers by producing an immense amount of heat from its body²

• After consuming sustenance, the shrieker will produce an egg that will instantly hatch a new shrieker²

• Unlike its far tougher ancestor, Shriekers fall to even basic firearms²

• Begins to stack themselves to reach a group of humans on a water tower²

• A group of Shriekers were specially trained to detect indirect sources of infrared radiation, somehow, allowing them to detect creatures through solid surfaces^E3

• Gets zapped by makeshift Zapper and are seemingly fine^E3

• Avoids streams of gunfire by escaping through a pipe^E13

Ass Blasters

After 24 hours, the shrieker will grow into what is called an Ass Blaster.

• Like the shrieker, it has an infrared heat sensor on the top of its head that it uses to detect prey³

• The Ass Blaster produces a burst of flame from its behind in order to elevate itself, where it glides using its wings³

• This is done by producing an extremely volatile chemical in their butt which violently reacts with the air when released³

• Ass blasters produce and carry the eggs of new graboids in their body³

• [SA] Ass Blasters hunt during the night in order to track their prey easier in cooler temperatures⁵

• Tears a hole in door, then rips it off its hinges³

• Breaks through the ceiling of a bunker³

• Punches a hole in the side of a wooden trailer³

• Rips apart pieces of of a power pylon⁶

• Ripped a guy’s torso off his legs^E4

• Wakes up shortly after being shot by a tranquilizer.^E4 Burt chalks this up to him being shot in the rear, where its the hottest^E4

• Loses control mid-flight and nose-dives into the ground^E4

• [SA] Gets slashed by a machete and shot, but still manages to grab someone and fly away⁵

• [SA] Ignores the effects of a tranquilizer dart⁵

• [SA] Gets shot and then flees⁵

• Uses the heat produced by its rear to melt a bunker door³

• The Ass Blasters are able to neutralized by eating an excessive amount of food³

• Dodges a flaming arrow from a makeshift potato gun³

• Stopped attacking potential food at ground level due to the traps set for it^E4
