Respect Makkari (Marvel)

Makkari is a member of the Eternals, an immortal offshoot of humanity created by the Celestials nearly a million years ago. Learning to run before he could walk Makkari always had a natural affinity for speed, soon becoming the fastest of all Eternals.

Makkari has always been involved in human affairs. He taught writing to the Egyptians, was present for the Alamo and, most importantly, became a superhero during World War II. Since then Makkari and the Eternals have become, willingly or not, heavily involved in human history. Their activities with the Deviants and Avengers eventually culminating in the awakening of Tiamut the Celestial and Makkari becoming Tiamut's emissary on Earth.

Makkari's speed has varied considerably throughout the years. During his stint as Mercury/Hurricane he seems to be lightspeed, yet he slows down considerably in the modern era. This is likely because Mercury/Hurricane and Makkari weren't even the same person until a retcon much later on.

Some point before he meats Quasar Makkari trained with Master Elo, sacrificing most of his powers as an Eternal to refocus them into speed alone. After this point Makkari trains his speed further with the Grosgumbeekians, becoming faster than even the Runner. Makkari does not keep this speed for long though, as Sprite warps reality a few appearances later to make the Eternals mortal again. And soon after that Makkari becomes servant of Tiamut, who restores his Eternal powers and seems to put his speed around square one again. Because of this this RT will be divided up into several sections, those being:

Mercury/Hurricane

---

Strength

• Fights Kro with "the fury of a thousand thunderstorms"

• Punches Kro hard enough the "roar resounds into the heavens"

• Spins a guy around by the legs and flies off with a group of men in tow

• Throws a man high into the air

• Punches a guy through a tree

Speed

• Runs FTE past some guards

• Flies from Prussialand to the Atlantic before Kro's guards can enter his room and then outspeeds and deflects a U-Boat missile

• Leaves a room so quickly he looks like a streak of light, then runs across a battlefield with "lightning-like rapidity" to intercept every message Kro sends his men

• Acts with the speed of light, easily dodging a bullet

• Outraces a striking boa constrictor

• Perceives an arrow in slow motion

• Goes FTE to a mook who describes him as being "as fast as lightning"

• Flies up to a car with the speed of light

• Dodges a bullet as one would a snowball

• Escapes a mook's grip with his speed

• Assumes the speed of a comet

• Runs in front of a car fast enough the suction pulls it forwards

• Spins someone around then runs back to his seat as fast as light

• Cheats a rigged carnival game at FTE speed

• Hits a lion with the speed of light

• Bullets can't compare to his speed

• Changes into costume before a bullet can hit him

• The wind from his arm's movement cools down a red hot rivet

• Catches bullets

Durability

• Unharmed by a hail of bullets

• No-sells bullets again

Random Powers

• Creates a disguise for himself

• Has speed-amping stamps he can use on vehicles

• Destroys part of a wall with electric beams and shoots lightning from his fingertips

• Gives a man wings to fly with, grows to the size of mountains then destroys a tribal village with lightning blasts

• Summons electricity to hit a guy then makes a wave bigger than a ship

Strength

• Lifts a fairly large stone

• Digs through concrete

• Can lift about 1.2 tons

• Or about 50 tons

Speed

• Goes FTE

• Can fly himself and others from Monster Isle to Tokyo in minutes

• Pulls people in his wake through suction

• Races ahead of Ikaris

• Can fly at 875 mph

• Runs fast enough to cause a sonic boom, but apparently needs some distance to get up to speed

• Can run and fly at 1550 mph

• Catches up to the Super Skrull's top flight speed

• Runs circles around the Super Skrull

• Believes he can run from Olympia to Italy in 7 minutes

Durability

• Has regeneration standard for an Eternal

• Takes a hit from the Super Skrull

Random Powers

• Still has his speed-amping stickers

• Can alter molecules in a volume of 12 cubic feet

• His eyebeams have a pressure of 200 PSI and a temperature of 2000 degrees Fahrenheit

Speed

• Runs a little less than 5 miles a second and was worn out while doing so

• Blitzes Quasar

• Saves Quasar from being killed by Ransak

• Keeps up with Earth-712 Whizzer even when he can't get up to top speed

• Blitzes a super gorilla

• Can run on air for a few hundred feet

• Goes supersonic

• Beats Earth-712 Whizzer despite his bum calf

• Runs far faster than sound

• Keeps up with a dying Grosgumbeekian, who rolls for kilometers upon tripping

Post-Grosgumbeek

• Reaches escape velocity in moments

• Enters a tachyon tunnel, where relativity doesn't exist, so that he can travel faster than thought

• Runs neck and neck with the Runner and "Buried Alien"

• Reaches the speed of light

• At lightspeed almost everyone in the world is frozen to him

Post-Sprite

Speed

• Unconsciously speeds out of the way of an incoming car

• Says he was moving faster than thought, the world seemed stopped and everything started to redshift

Servant of Tiamut

Strength

• One of Kra's minions says that Makkari's speed is great enough to one-shot Kra

• Can lift up to 50 tons

• Knocks Kaine Parker to the ground

• Slams Justice into the side of a mountain extremely hard

• Staggers some stone giants with his punches

Speed

• Easily beats Ikaris in a race even with Ikaris having a head start

• Dodges a strike from Kra and claims he could disable him and all his troops before they could blink, Kra has an army of 6000

• Evades more strikes from Kra

• Examines all 6000 of Kra's troops before they notice

• Seems to cause sonic booms

• Says that it'll take him 33 minutes at full speed to get from 100 miles south-west of Clipperton Island to the Golden Gate Bridge

• Seems to form a mach cone

• Keeps up with Moonstalker even when making turns

• Can run about Mach 3

• Can run at Mach 3, again, and fly at 850 mph, this also notes that Makkari could go FTL before being altered by Tiamut

• Dodges shots from Sungirl

• Dodges a strike from Kaine Parker

• Pulls along Justice too fast for him to resist

• Blitzes some stone giants

Durability

• Survives smacking into an ice wall at an absurd amount of speed, though he's injured later on
