Biography

Jinbe is a character from the long running anime and manga One Piece by Eiichiro Oda.

A member of the Fishman species (specifically a whale shark fishman), Jinbe was initially introduced as a member of the Shicibukai, but would later go on to renounce his title and side with Whitebeard and Luffy during the Battle of Marineford, as well as during the Fishman Island and Whole Cake Island arcs.

Jinbe has, throughout his life, been a soldier, a pirate captain as well as Shicibukai, and is widely respected for his honourable and fair nature towards both Fishmen and humans. He is a master of Fishman Karate, having earnt a black belt in it as a child.

As a fishman, Jinbe is naturally able to breath underwater and is adept at swimming, both at and below the surface.

Like most Fishmen, Jinbe is notably larger than most normal humans

Authority & Status

Jinbe has held many ranks throughout his life, including solider in King Neptune's army, member of the Sun Pirates and Shichibukai. As a Fishman, Jinbe is naturally able to communicate with all fish, including sharks.

Combat Skill

Haki

Haki is a mysterious power that all living things in the One Piece Universe possess, but it can only be used either through training or, in rare cases, subconciously.

So far Jinbe has demonstrated use of Busoshuko, or Armament Haki. This is a hardening of the power to provide greater durability and striking power.

Note: Jinbe has probably used Haki several other times in the series, however for this section I will only include feats where the armament is confirmed to have happened.

Fishman Karate

Jinbe is a blackbelt in Fishman Karate, having mastered the art at an incredibly young age. He is considered a master at the art, and is so proficient at it that he doesn't even need to make physical contact with his opponent to defeat them. Jinbe explains that the nature of Fishman Karate is about sending shockwaves through the water in the immediate vicinity, including the water vapour and the water within people. Most, if not all of these feats double as strength feats.

Update of the old RT: improved formatting, added newer feats and just generally tidied things up. I'll update as new feats get added.

Also I have no idea what the best spelling of his name is; OP wiki says Jimbei is the official English spelling (which is supported by Pirate Warriors 3 where he's called Jimbei) but everyone seems to refer to him online as Jinbe, so I'll just go with that as it appears to be the more popular spelling.

Nice RT. Great to add the more recent feats as they appear.

Just a remark, though : Buraikan and Vagabond Drill are the same technique. Vagabond Drill simply is the Viz translation.

Also, I think that Samehada Shotei only refers to the palm block he performed against Moria's scissors, and that he didn't show it after the timeskip yet. Could be checked with the anime.
