Respect Mimic

"All these people around now shoot lasers from their face or whatever? I get near them and I can do it all too."

Calvin Rankin was just an average kid with an obsessive secretive scientist father. Despite his father's warnings to Calvin to never enter the laboratory, young Calvin did just that one day and was involved in an accident that turned him into...the Mimic!

Capable of copying the powers, skills, and expertise of anyone in his vicinity, Mimic has been in an on-and-off-again relationship with the X-Men since their early days. After years of flip-flopping between hero and villain, Mimic was eventually diagnosed as bipolar and began to sort through his issues. Now imbued permanently with the powers of Professor X and the first five X-Men (Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Iceman, and Angel), Mimic has been fighting on the side of the angels lately and doing a much better job of it.

Note: I listed what relevant powers were known to be mimicked at the time of each feat.

  • Kicks Warpath so hard he flies into the air and through a steel aircraft
  • Punches Colossus several meters away through a stone wall (Colossus)
  • Punches Omega up out of a building and down through a statue

  • Throws a block of ice so hard into a chimney it topples over (Beast)
• [Grappling]
  • Colossus says Mimic's strength rivals his own (Colossus)

Durability

• [Thermal]
  • Has piping hot steam sprayed onto him (Wolverine)

  • Stabbed through the chest by Wolverine's claws
  • Hit by stone shrapnel that earlier pierces through a helicopter
• [Blunt]
  • Tanks a punch from Warpath
  • Face slammed into a wall by Namor so hard it craters
  • No sells a punch from Colossus (Colossus)
  • Knocked into a wall so hard it craters
  • Beat up by a ludicrous number of mutants but is in good enough shape to fly away a short while later
• [Energy]
  • Takes a full Iron Man uni-beam point blank to the face and is fine a short while later
  • Shot by Post
  • Takes a massive electric shock so powerful it drains the facility's forcefields (Colossus)
• [Explosive]
  • Survives this explosion in good enough condition to escape (Warpath)
• Undergoes weeks of torture

Speed

  • Uses the speed of Angel and Banshee simultaneously (Angel/Banshee)
  • Flies so fast he is mistaken for a missile

  • Dodges a thrown projectile and immediately blocks several more (Beast/Iceman)

I believe he's one of the main characters in a series called Exiles.

That’s a non-616 version, and he’s currently dead. I’ve finished the series.
