Ok, but what do you expect from a band that's been at this for over 50 years? Voices give out, fingers get arthritis. Sometimes you gotta stop living in the past and pick up something new.

Totally. But the point is that because of age it seems they should then consider not playing as Chicago anymore when aging band members can’t play anymore and it’s almost all substitutes.

I've seen CCR, the Guess Who, EW&F, Skynyrd and Foreigner (to name just a few) and was damned glad I did. I get that they're lacking "original members," but I love seeing skilled musicians perform great songs. I could live in the past like some of my purist friends, or enjoy great live music. I know what I'm paying for, and the music I grew up up on gets scarcer every year.

There are exceptions, and I get what you're saying. I saw ZZ Top right after Dusty died and will likely never go again. But overall, I'm OK with seeing legendary bands with tenuous links to their glory days.

Yes. I saw the Buzzcocks and it’s just one member left. They are pretty public about it and say that so expectations are then minimized. I’m seeing The Who in two weeks and Pete Townsend says they are basically a tribute band now but you still have 50% original with the main singer and primary song writer still there so I see why it is still called The Who but they are very public that two members are gone. Chicago doesn’t mention anything so unless you know the band you just assume there is at least the main ones left and it’s just one left the trumpet player. .
