Discussion I’ll never look at lady bugs the same… Spoiler

just finished the show and I thought I predicted the ending because I was like “jack is gonna go back to the past and live happily ever after with ashi because she has no family in the future that’s worth staying for” and I thought I was right until they pulled that shit and now I don’t think I’ll ever recover. I really want to play the game but it’s not available anymore unless you pay insane prices on ebay. so I might try to mod my PS4 when it’s available. also wish they just gave jack a happier ending because he deserved it after all the suffering he went through.

I mean, it was Genndy’s plan to have her disappear into nothingness, as evidenced by interviews. He had said the pain of losing someone like her was just the most beautiful thing Jack could ever experience.

He kind of proved his point, tbh. We’re still feeling that he and her got unjustly shafted in canon, 8 years later. In that way, it’s an impactful ending. Perhaps for some, more sweet than bitter, for others, maybe more bitter than sweet.

She should have died when she said she no longer felt Aku. It would've been harsh, but needed.

As she did not then and there, dying at the wedding felt cheap. Why only then? That was the error.

Not something to invalidate the series value like in GoT, but very lame.

Yeah they should have made her dissapear and then have jack reunite with his family instead of waiting until their wedding day and showing this false happy ending

yeah, to an extent I'm willing to tolerate futzing around with logic in a story for the sake of making the narrative punch your gut just right; but if something doesn't make sense, and you ask "why did this happen that way?" and the ONLY answer you can come up with is "to make the story work," then it needs revision, and that's the case with Ashi's disappearance. Either she shoulda disappeared as soon as Aku was dead, OR she shoulda lived. There's no in universe explanation for why it took months.

It’s definitely poetic and beautiful but I just can’t help feeling bad for jack after all he’s been through, he deserved a win, like on his wedding day??? they should have just had her die in his arms after he killed aku

This is why I consider the games 100% ending as canon.

You can find that ending on YT really easily if you want to just see it

I’m gonna try to emulate it and play through the game, I feel like that’s more satisfying
