Discussion So are there any minor characters you liked?
2 minor characters that I really liked were x-49 and the gentleman. X-49 of course is tragic, dude never even wanted to fight and had a whole personality unlike other robots, but I also like the gentleman’s atheistic, calm and fancy but also very deadly.

Definitely X-49, because of Lulu. I also just like how different that episode was. Told from X-49”s point of view and film noir style.

The Guardian!

This show excels at making so many minor one-off characters extremely memorable, but the Guardian is one of the ones that sticks out in my head the most.

Minions of Set. Having Jack on the defensive against an unstoppable onslaught was riveting for me.

If they didn't have weapons do you think they would have resorted to using bite attacks in combination with their kicks and punches?
A scene of one sniffing then growling menacingly / displaying his sharp teeth implied to me they're highly carnivorous.

X-49 today feels like a prototype (pun intended) for John Wick well before John Wick became pop culture. For like a week, I had thought John Wick was an older movie because I was thinking at that time X-49 was referencing Wick. Later learned that was not the case.

The Imakandi tribe
The robot who loved Lulu, sweet thing.
The scientist who created the assassin robots.

I liked the Imakandi for how much we learn about their culture and their honor system in regards to hunting, even if it feels like a bit of a cop-out at the end after they've proven to be one of the few enemies that Jack could not defeat.
Aku essentially hired professionals to come deal with a rat in his house, but because the rat proved to be hard to catch, they just let him crawl back into the walls. I wouldn't be surprised if he vaporized their planet after that.
I also wish we could've learned more about the High Priestess in season 5. She felt like a character that was being built up to, but she was barely on screen and was killed off fairly quickly without any real reveal on her backstory, why she adores Aku, how she organized this cult, or even what she looks like (not that there were any real candidates, but a character hiding under a mask tends to be a hint that they're someone the audience already knows). Also, Aku desires respect and worship, to the point of trying to paint himself as a hero to gain the reverence of the children under him, and yet, a whole cult dedicated to him doesn't garner much of a reaction from him? He isn't ecstatic about a group of humans who willingly submit to him and are even willing to breed equally subordinate children to train into soldiers for him? I just think more time should've been spent on the whole thing.

I could be wrong but the reason he wasn't excited about a cult who willingly idolized and worshipped him is because it was his first time ever "conceiving" children so he wasn't sure what they would be capable of.
Jack losing his sword, the birth of his daughters and the very last time portal being destroyed all took place around the same time:
Aku being unaware of the sword falling into the chasm worked to Jack's advantage, if I cant defeat him, at least his hopes of returning back to the past now is lost so I'll settle for a stalemate.
After a handful of years of ruling the universe, he probably decided Jack rescuing a new person / group of people approximately once a day was trivial to his vast influence over planets.
Eventually he got bored with being "god" (as implied during that psychiatrist scene with himself)

Good swing Jacky Boy, I must say with your help we're on the path to defeating Aku and his goons in no time!

The Guardian, for sure. Having watched The Matrix last year and then Samurai Jack a few months later really made it better.

Princess Mira and x-49. Both were good, failed and, in the end of the show, Jack saved them nonetheless.

Most of Jack’s allies like the Scotsman and those three monks from the well, but also that robot. Even as a kid that episode was really impactful for me
