The April group read book is Gideon the ninth by Tamsyn Muir

The Emperor needs necromancers.

The Ninth Necromancer needs a swordswoman.

Gideon has a sword, some dirty magazines, and no more time for undead bullshit.

Brought up by unfriendly, ossifying nuns, ancient retainers, and countless skeletons, Gideon is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse. She packs up her sword, her shoes, and her dirty magazines, and prepares to launch her daring escape. But her childhood nemesis won't set her free without a service.

Harrowhark Nonagesimus, Reverend Daughter of the Ninth House and bone witch extraordinaire, has been summoned into action. The Emperor has invited the heirs to each of his loyal Houses to a deadly trial of wits and skill. If Harrowhark succeeds she will become an immortal, all-powerful servant of the Resurrection, but no necromancer can ascend without their cavalier. Without Gideon's sword, Harrow will fail, and the Ninth House will die.

Of course, some things are better left dead.

Romance Which Slowly Turns into a Cosmic Horror (And Back Again)

Anyone know of something set in a realistic-ish world (could be heightened, but either way not particularly fantastical) with the A-Plot being a sort of romantic comedy-drama (or something along those lines) where one of the FMCs is a bit avoidant to being "known"?

But the more the other FMC tries to get to know her in a more intimate way, the more it drifts/morphs into cosmic horror territory as things don't match up and starts casting a sinister and/or terrifying light on the avoidant FMC.

Could result in whatever way, but preferably still with a sincere core and the world for the most part realistic-ish (even if the core* of the avoidant FMC turns out to be some celestial being or eldritch abomination).

*Maybe the avoidant FMC doesn't even fully know about or understand this aspect of herself.

Sorry if this is too specific lol

Romance where the MC has Amnesia?

Trying to find a specific one to re read, main bit I remember was the MC wakes up thinking she's still straight and in a relationship with a man. Fairly sure she's got young daughter but might be a step mother situation.

It isn't Forgot me not by Shae Paris (tho that is good) or Forget Me Not by Alyson Derrick (which is a glorious emotional jerker)

spooky season recommendation

just finished reading โ€˜we used to live hereโ€™ by marcus kliewer and wow. i highly recommend, the main character is in a sapphic relationship and thatโ€™s one of the reasons i picked it up but also itโ€™s very spooky, has a lot of psychological horror elements, kinda insane tbh ngl. messes with your head but really well written and a book iโ€™m gonna be thinking about for a while holy crap. recommend if you like horror/thriller type books, especially with a sapphic twist

Looking for a comic I read on my teenage years

Hi,

I'm looking everywhere for a comic set up on an ucronian englad that has a couple of girls as the main protagonist. The style is an interesting combination of victorian fashion and punk style... I do not recall the name and I really want to give it a try again.

Can somebody help me on this one? Thank you in advance

Anybody else in love with A memory called Empire?

Hi everyone! I've just finished reading the Teixcalaan series and I am in love. Anyone else out there? I've had a look around and I'm surprised it doesn't have a larger fandom. The worldbuilding is top notch, the characters complex, the intercultural interaction masterfully described. I just wish Three Seagrass and Mahit had just sat down and talked. But perhaps that doesn't make for a tension-filled plot...

Also, who else picked out a Teixcalaani name?๐Ÿ˜†

Recs on being a good partner?

Not exactly a sapphic requirement, but myself (F32) and my best friend (F40, that I'm super into) have both been through it with controlling and emotionally abusive husbands. I struggle with jealousy, I'm sure due to a bad childhood and subsequent bad partners, blah blah, point is, I don't want to project that on her, whether as my friend or my partner. During this time of singlehood, I'd really like to work on myself and heal from some of my past so I can be a better partner in the future, whether to her or someone else. I'm doing this for me because I want to be in a healthy relationship and that means I have to be healthy. I know I need a therapist but I live smack in the Bible belt in a small rural town which is fairly homophobic. I will not be talking to any therapist here. But I'm fairly intelligent and have come a long way just by reading self help books. I've never read one that focuses on a WLW relationship, always hetero relationships. If anyone has any good suggestions on WLW relationship advice books, I'd love to hear them. Thank yall!

Woman With Godlike Power x Average Jane

Is there a book (or shorter) focusing on some kind of romance, comedy, and/or drama between an รผber-powerful woman with godlike powers and a woman with no (or only very little) fantastical aspects?

But the ridiculous amount of power is (narrativelyโ€”other character opinions is a different question) is for the most part treated in a more "magical realism" "unremarkable", way, not generally putting it in the spotlight.

Or is otherwise not the centre of the story.

Hopefully that makes sense lol.

sapphic books to read during autumn and winter?

I'm dreading the cold months coming and the warm weather leaving so I wanted some books to help me feel more 'into' the seasons. Also would appreciate if it was written why it feels like autumn or winter.

Bound by Words - Sapphic Romance Comic is Live

Post image
44 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I posted sometime last month our first cover for this book and it got a decent response.

The campaign is finally live and I wanted to show off this new cove from Stacey Lee! This is my first sapphic comic and I'm really excited to be bringing it to life.

Synopsis

In her quiet bookstore, Madeline sheltered the children the crown wanted gone. She always tried to keep her head down. She never meant to fall in love. Least of all, with the leader of the rebellion, trapped away in a magic tower.

Siora's revolution ended in chains. Captured and sentenced to solitary confinement in a lonely tower, she had all but given up until Madeline's first letters arrived. Now, with only days of freedom left, she's found love. But is it already too late?

I hope you'll check out the campaign. Thank you!

What is happening on audible?

Thumbnail

These are all the lesbian books I know of on Audible Plus that I haven't listened to. All but two of them are getting removed. Usually, much like streaming services, books get cycled through the plus catalogue. They'll remove some books, but add others. I've been using audible plus for a year now and am used to how it works.

What I'm seeing now is nothing like it is usually. I don't know how other genres are doing, if this is just a product of them reducing the overall plus catalogue. But the entire lesbian genre is getting gutted. I'm trying to listen to all these titles as fast as I can. Once October 21st comes around, I'll likely end my subscription.

I can't find any information about this online and I can't find anyone else talking about it, except one person who brought up the removal of Jae books specifically.

I obviously can't tell Amazon not to do this. I just want to know that I'm not crazy. What is happening here? Did I miss something? I'm just confused right now.

And yes, my first name is Juliet. I think it's a beautiful name!

Need some audio book recs

Love sapphic stories but can't fully get into Romance genre. This is nothing against the genre but the last few books I've tried just dont fully click for me which is weird cause I'm a huge fan of manga and love a bunch of romance stories there. With novels my focus is usually on Science fiction and fantasy though so I'm looking for recs that kind of bridge that gap.

Some examples of what I have read and enjoyed: This Is How You Lose the Time War, Gideon/Harrow the Ninth, He Who Drowned the World, She drives me crazy.

Compared to romance books I've tried but didn't finish: Nobody in Particular, Those Who Wait.

Nothing against the books I didn't finish, just that they didn't keep me engaged enough to see them through (though it might in part be to having listened to them rather than read). Dont mention sequels to the books I listed tho as ofc they're on my radar or tbr but I wanna listen to some audio books and those are physical lol.

Though I mentioned SFF, really any genre works whether Romance, Horror, Lit Fic. Just want something with a plot and preferably a bit of yearning. Femme or masc characters are equally loved, I dont mind most tropes other than insta love, some spice is okay.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey! Exactly as the title says. I prefer fantasy and I like my books spicy if possible. But I really hate flying so I want a book that really sucks you in, maybe even think about for days or weeks afterwards. So I am okay if it is not fantasy as long as it sucks me in. I currently am reading The Stolen Kingdom and will be done by my flight and I DTA Woman in the Waves.

Extra points if it is also a good audio book.

THANK YOU ALL. โค๏ธ

Any good book recommendations?

Getting back into reading recently and I picked up "Don't Want You Like a Best Friend" by Emma R. Alban. I've suggested it on other posts because honestly, I'm hooked! But I would really love more sapphic/lesbian book recommendations. I'm in the middle of a move and nothing sounds nicer than queer romance with tea once everything settles down.

I love slow burns, enemies to lovers, "fake marriage" or "fake arrangement" stuff, and princess/knight type relationships.

If y'all have any recommendations with transfem or non-binary representation, that would be awesome! I would love to be able to share these books with my girlfriend. -^

Monster romance books like Regine Abel but sapphic.

As the title says, I'm looking for sapphic monster romance books with a happy ending.

If they are based on dungeons and dragons like Legends and Lattes, extra points
