Posada is a beautiful little city, there's the castle, which is on a rocky hill. Then there are the beaches: in the photo there's Su Tiriarzu, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island kr the world (my opinion)

We Sassarese have a long history that dates back to the Pisan occupation of the island. Going back centuries, this tradition of the Candelieri was born. Each Guild builds a candelabra and, on the August 14thThey parade through the city. Every now and then they stop to dance, cheer on the crowd, and rest. Obviously, check Wikipedia for more info.

Alongside you can see the island of Tavolara, with a somewhat bizarre history. Before the unification of Italy (before 1861 therefore), an aristocrat (whose name I don't remember) founded a principality that It lasted a long time. Check Wikipedia for more info ;)

Pregonta Boat rental Cala Gonone

Hello!

I’m staying with family on the west side of the island but taking my boyfriend on a trip for a couple of days along the east coast near Cala Gonone. I’ve been and rented a boat before a few years ago but everything I can see online is so expensive now. Has anyone rented a dinghy recently directly from the port that can tell me how much it cost for the day?

I am tempted to reserve online and take the hit but don’t want to end up paying more.

Tips appreciated! 😊

Pregonta Traveling from Alghero to Cagliari with family – is a 10-minute train transfer in Oristano doable?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a trip with my family across Sardinia, and we’re trying to travel from Alghero to Cagliari using public transportation. So far, I’ve figured out that we need to take a bus from Alghero to Sassari, and then head towards Cagliari. From what I see, the route goes by bus as far as Oristano, and from there we would continue by train.

Here’s my concern: according to the schedule I found, we only have about 10 minutes to make the connection in Oristano. We’ll have luggage and be traveling with a child (7mo), so I’m a bit worried this might be too tight.

Has anyone done this route recently?
Is the 10-minute connection in Oristano realistic or too risky?
Does the bus stop directly at the railway station in Oristano? Could this be a replacement bus for a train service?
Do buses and trains in Sardinia usually run on time?

Would you recommend building in a longer buffer (maybe exploring Oristano a bit and taking a later train)?

Any advice or tips would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Cunversatzione Windy weather

Hi there, we’ve been in Sardinia for a few days now and the wind seems to be making the sea less calm, less blue and beach days a little tough. Any recommendations on things to do when it’s this windy? And how do I check which beaches are best in terms of wind forecast? Thanks

Come è finita ?

Pregonta First time in Sardinia. Does this itinerary make sense?

Hi everyone,

first of all, thank you so much for all the valuable tips and inspiration I’ve already found here. It has helped me a lot in planning my trip!

Together with my fiancé, I’ll be traveling to Sardinia for the first time this September. We’ll be there for two weeks (13 nights + 1 night in Olbia at the end because of an early flight). We’ll rent a car and want to combine beaches, nature, snorkeling, hiking, and some evenings in smaller towns with good food and maybe a cozy bar/pub vibe (not party life, more relaxed).

We’d prefer to avoid big crowds and packed beaches where you’re towel-to-towel. Having some space is more important to us, even if it means skipping the most famous beaches.

Here’s my plan so far:

  • Orosei (or nearby village): 3 nights – boat trips, beaches, some hiking
  • Villasimius: 2 nights
  • Cagliari: 2 nights
  • Alghero: 3 nights
  • Santa Teresa Gallura: 3 nights
  • Olbia: 1 night (before flying back)

A few questions:

  • Does this route make sense, or will we spend too much time driving?
  • Should we rather focus on one area (like only west for example) or is it enough time to visit more?
  • Is 2 nights each in Villasimius and Cagliari enough, or would you recommend focusing on one?
  • Would you add a stop like Bosa for a night or two, or just visit it as a day trip from Alghero?
  • Is 3 nights in Alghero the right amount, or should we stay longer there?

I’d love to hear what you think! Whether to spend less time in more places, or more nights in fewer locations. Any feedback or tips would be super appreciated!

Pregonta Multi-day hike on the West Coast from Alghero south - taking advice!

For about 12 days at the end of September, I want to hike south from Alghero and camp. Wondering what people in the know think about this? Are there enough towns to pass through on that route to get water / is the hiking nice?

Are there other regions / starting points I should consider?

Gratefully accepting any and all advice!

Pregonta Boat Rental in Arbatax

Hey everybody.

I'm going to Sardinia in a couple of days. The trip was kind of a last minute decision. I've figured out most of what I want to do and where to go but I have a question about renting a dinghy to explore the east coast. We'll be staying in Arbatax for the first few days and I was wondering if we have to reserve a boat several days in advance or if it is also possible to walk to the harbor on the day of and still find something? I know this is peak season on Sardinia and I hope the question isn't too naive.

Thanks so much for your help 🤗

Pregonta A Week in SW Sardinia

Post image
27 Upvotes

Hello I am excited to explore Sardinia. As I have been planning I decided it's a good idea to narrow down to 1 region that way I am not driving all over the whole week. Currently I like SW Sardinia as I've heard its more wild, rugged, and real, and less touristy, busy, flashy, expensive as some other areas (Mainly NE)

I will be there for a week in mid September which should be an excellent time. I would like this communities help in confirming that SW Sardinia is the right pick for me.

I am late 20s solo traveling male from US

My ideal vacations are adventure and exploration focused. I would rather hike to a beach for 6 hours and stay for 1 hour for a swim and lunch, than to sit on the beach for 6 hours.

I like most water sports, like swimming, scuba or snorkeling, surfing, sailing, fishing or spearfishing

As above I also really like great hikes. I know Sardinia has amazing coasts, but the mountains look great too, I would love a nice mountain hike, and yes a hike to a secret beach sounds amazing

Lastly great food people and culture, the more real life and less catered to tourists the better. I love seafood too.

Do you think SW Sardinia is good for the above goals? Any recommendations on activities, people to see, restaurants towns, places to stay Etc.?

On my map there is 2 weird little red star things, those are the places I am leaning towards staying (cool agriturismo's) but all of that is subject to change based on learning more. I picked the one to the north, because I think there is good surfing in that area, but if you know somewhere better please let me know.

Thank you for the help and I look forward to experiencing your island.

Cunversatzione Traveling to Sardinia in September and reserving boat

I am planning on booking a boat for a day-trip. Came across few with Viator, getmyguide, tripadvisor, etc. but most were booked for the days for Sept 1-3,2025. Came across one called 'maxi rib excursions' Palau

After contacting them, the owner asked for passport information through whatsapp for creating a rental contract for the boat trip. This would be private trip. In the past i have only submitted passport info through airbnb site and never through whatsapp due to safety/cyber issue.

Any thoughts on this and/or recommendations for boat excursions for a day trip around La Maddalena islands during Sep 1-3

Pregonta Neptune’s Cave via Cala Dragunara in Porto Conte Park

am hoping someone in the know might be able to help me. i see there are two ways to get to the cave via boat - one from alghero and another via the pier of of cala dragunara in porto conte park. i found what seems to be an out of date website (navisarda) that used to run this route but i can't seem to find anything new. really just looking for a schedule. we could do the steps if needed but trying to avoid leaving from alghero so we can enjoy beaches in the area after the park.

Pregonta Where to base for 4 days in October flying into Olbia

Hello there!

I am looking for some advice about where to base for my trip to Sardinia in the first week of October for 5D4N.

We are flying in and out of Olbia as it is the easiest option from London Gatwick, we will also be hiring a car from Olbia Airport.

After doing much researching, Alghero and Bosa appeals to me the most. Is it a good idea to base ourselves 2 nights in the east coast and 2 nights in the west coast (Alghero and make a day trip to Bosa)?

However, will I be wasting a lot of time on the road to get to Alghero from Olbia?

Welcome any advice! Thank you.

Pregonta alghero
