Just stumbled across Tim's lbd profile and noticed that he liked Jake's Mission Impossible review and also followed him. You should feel honored, Jake. You earned very good internet points.

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed and I’m glad we got to finish off with the one that started off this meme in our community: Sinners!

I think it would be really cool to see a huge film buff, like Gregg, come onto the show. He could, of course, recommend a popcorn classic to talk about. Plus, being an actor who has appeared in such films as Peyton Reed's Ant-Man, he has a ton of insider knowledge. I'm not sure the legal ramifications of appearing on another show without Tim, but I'm sure they could figure it out.

Despite how cringe-worthy these films are in retrospect and to the average viewer, I can't understate that this was NOT how the internet received them at the time.
Anyone who was a fan of Nostalgia Critic from 2007-2012 (AKA the majority of people who consumed internet content at the time) found all the films to be incredibly enjoyable, funny and fulfilling to watch.
They are obviously extremely unprofessional productions, but they were meant to be a celebration of a niche but significant internet subculture. NONE of us expected something that was up to professional Hollywood standards. If anything, we enjoyed how campy and fun it all felt.
I say this because if you're watching in 2025 without any of this context, I think you will genuinely be missing out on why these specials were so popular and celebrated at the time. This was not a time where there was an expectation of professionalism for online vidoes, and these films were basically the pinnacle of a bygone era of internet content.
I hope the discussion is more than just "Haha this is cringe" and actually explores the context surrounding the films and why so many of us genuinely enjoyed them.

It's rare to come across fellow Aliens truthers, * so I was super psyched to hear that Alex agrees that the original movie Alien is excellent, and the sequel Aliens, not so much. It takes chilling, atmospheric slow burn sci-fi and crams it into the mold of schlocky Eighties action movies (a genre I find execrable as a general rule).
But as Alex said, the James Cameron sequel tends to be a fan favorite. Honestly, I have always just explained that disconnect as part and parcel of the type of preferences the unwashed masses tend to have (a love of popcorn action flicks). So if you are inclined to be offended by my opinion, you are probably right to feel that way! 😛

Without giving too much personal information, I work at a job in which people (usually wealthy) make reservations to go to a vacation spot. When I saw the reservation list, I saw his name and that he had a reservation for 2:30. So I waited wondering what I should say if I see him.
Around 2:10, A grey Rivian pickup truck pulled around and my coworker asked for his name. I heard his voice say “DeHaan”. When he pulled up to me, I told him I rewatched Chronicle the other night. He smiled and said “oh really?”. I told him I enjoyed his work and he thanked me. My coworker didn’t know the movie Chronicle and thought I meant the evening news segment that airs on ABC. So he asks him “What were you doing on Chronicle?” And he just said “I’m an actor”.
“Oh”
Afterwards, we gave him his ticket and told him where to park. Before he left he made a point of looking at me and telling me to take care.
I know this subreddit likes to clown on him for shit like TASM2 and Valerian, but he was a nice guy and didn’t throw his weight around and I thought he handled my awkward coworker well. He doesn’t strike me as someone who gets recognised often, so I hope I made his day.

I really like this movie a lot so I'm curious what he will say about it.
