SWAG - what would you like?

What kind of SWAG would you appreciate for attending a SAR event? We all have plenty of water bottles and t-shirts.

  • Rite in the Rain notebook and pencil
  • Mini rolls of duct tape
  • Moleskin/blister packs
  • kinesiology tape
  • Carabiners
  • Gear ties
  • Gift certificates for SAR apps or gear companies

* Dry bags (for storing items in backpacks)

* Good caribeners.

* Buffs

* work gloves

* Adventure Passes or local rec passes.

* Therabands or cork balls (I received a small cork ball at an event like this, and I carry it in my pack to roll out sore spots or knots when we take breaks).

I have too many water bottles, multi tools and gear.
Snake gaters would work for some.

Avoid mulittools /pockets knives if it's an event people are flying to. Went to one a couple years back, they gave those out and a bunch of people trashed them because of flights and carry ons

Or bring prepaid mailers to put them in and let recipients self address as needed and have the organizers mail them for them!

Take a tip from Adam Savage and do demerit badges:

- Navigator- Compass with north and south mixed up or a map printed upside down

- Knotting - Just a mess of knots

- Packing - A rucksack with everything including the kitchen sink.

The best swag at the MRA conference this year was the BD bag that all the other swag was packed in. I've used this bag so much already. I've also worn the ball cap quite a bit. It was great for sun protection at the event.
