Looking for local filmmakers

Upvotes

Hey all

I'm a filmmaker from Australia and I've recently moved to extremadura to live.

It's been great but I've slowly realised that I won't have much of an opportunity to get on set there.

Seville has a bit of a community by the looks of it and I'll be staying in your lovely city for a few days starting from tomorrow.

I'd love to meet some of you and potentially assist with your projects in any capacity whether it's an actual role or just being an extra pair of hands.

I apologise for the weird post but i just wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I didn't try continue making films while I was over here and it seems more or less impossible in extremadura.

My imdb: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm6916328/?ref_=ext_shr

P.s I'm learning more and more Spanish todo los dias.

Free pub crawl in Seville this Saturday

Join SevImprov this Saturday for a fun pub crawl through the city! We'll be stopping at 3 great bars in the Resolana/Alameda area, and ending at the venue for our show later this month. If you're new in Seville, this is a great opportunity to meet people and make new friends.

What do you use to navigate

Is it just my Google maps that’s confused in Sevilla ? What do you use to drive around here because it keeps rerouting to make me take longer routes that make zero sense. Gracias

Estimated prices for rooms in shared apartments

Hello!

I’ll be studying in your beautiful city for a semester and I wanted to ask if you could give me some guidance regarding the estimated prices for rooms in shared apartments. I’m not looking for any special comforts, just a place that isn’t too noisy since I’ll need good rest for my studies :)

I was thinking of a budget of up to 600 EUR per month. Do you think that’s reasonable? I’d really appreciate any additional recommendations you could give me :)

Thank you!

Hotels recommendation

Hi!

My wife, daughter, and I will visit Seville in December with my in-laws (who live in Spain); we are flying from New York. I was looking for hotels in the center and didn’t find anything suitable for our budget ( we are paying for both rooms), so we found a hotel that seems reasonable (4 stars) but is a bit far away from the city center. I’m unsure of how safe the area around it is. The name of the hotel is Hotel Silken Al Andalus Palace. Any comments or anything we should be aware of besides the fact that hotel is far away from all the tourist places and we will need to either use public transportation or pay for parking to go to the city center?

Thank you in advance for all your help!

Bus/Train From Granada To Seville

I have a flight out of Seville airport at Noon (12 PM) on January 1 2026. Will there be any early morning transportation available for me to take from Granada for it? I tried to search for bus and train and didn't find any early morning train but did find Alsa bus services from Granada. Does anyone here help me figure out if this could be a reliable choice considering January 1 being holiday or I should arrange for something day before my departure. Thank you for your help.

ID in Seville

I’m 19 and my friend is literally going to be 18 the week after we’re going (It’s the only week we can go very annoying I know). we’re not exactly looking to go crazy but will she be able to even have a cocktail in a bar, never had any other issues while in Spain but I know its different in the cities and she doesn’t look underage id say.

Just curious as if she will be able to drink then we’ll bring some extra cash specifically, if not we will not bother. Many thanks :)

How to visit Doñana National Park?

In two weeks, my girlfriend and I will be traveling to Seville for 10 days. We'd love to visit the Doñana National Park, but are a bit overwhelmed by all the options.

We don't have a car, is it possible/doable to take the bus to El Rocío and then go to the park?
Or should we buy a day trip (that includes transportation from Seville)? These are expensive, but it kinda seems worth it? Not sure. Because then you get access to restricted areas and it would be super cool to see lynxes.

What would you recommend as our best option?

What are the living expenses in Seville with a salary of €52k/year?

Hi everyone,

I just received an offer for €52,000 gross per year to work remotely from anywhere in Spain. I’d like to get a realistic picture of living expenses in different cities where Accenture (and similar companies) have offices—Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Málaga.

How much can I expect to take home after taxes (~net salary)?

What’s a comfortable monthly budget (rent, utilities, groceries, transport, etc.) in these cities?

Would this salary allow a decent lifestyle in Madrid or Barcelona, or would I have a much better quality of life in Valencia or Seville?

I am a family of two.

FREENOW taxi scam

I was scammed twice by taxi drivers in Sevilla. Both times the driver charged me more than what was on the meter. First time she charged me after I got out of the car and I only found out about it when she left. Second time we got all smart and said I won’t leave before you charge me! But nope, we were robbed again 😅 The meter read €9.5 and he charged us €16. When we confronted him he told us that €16 was the maximum and he had to take maximum amount. We were like but the meter is clearly less than that! He reset the meter immediately and told us that that was the final price.

What are we supposed to do in this case? The money is gone now and it’s a he said she said situation as we didn’t take a picture of the meter. But for the future, how are we supposed to deal with these situations?? We have 6 days left in Spain and we will definitely need to use more taxis. What are your recommendations?

Birthday Celebration

Hello! My husband and I will be traveling to Seville for the first time to meet up with his parents. During those days, it will be his birthday, and I’d love to do something special for him and his parents, since they haven’t spent a birthday together in over 10 years. Could you give me some recommendations? Note: My husband loves wine 😊. Thank you!!

Match tickets for Sevilla or Betis?

I'm looking to treat my son to a few days in Seville in late October, and would love to take him to a football match while we're there. He won't mind whether we see a match at Seville or Betis, so I'm keen to find out the best way to buy match tickets.

Is it best to buy them through the club websites, or are they easy to buy when we're there? I think the second option feels a bit risky?

Any advice would be very welcome and much appreciated, thank you.

Recommendations for local t-shirt stores? (or poster stores)

So I just arrived in beautiful Seville today and already thought about some cool, non-trashy souvenir to bring back home. Something that I can use on a daily basis and doesn't end up in the trash 3 months later.

More precisely, I am looking for some cool t-shirt stores, offering pieces for up to 30-40€. I don't care about big brands, it's all about the print/motive and a decent quality which I am looking for (no fast fashion advices please).

Do you have any ideas/recommendations for stores offering shirts similar to the ones attached to my post? It would be even cooler if they offered motives or print associated with Seville!

Alternatively, posters off all kinds would be cool (those you can put in a cool frame and hand on the wall). Something like modern art or retro style - just let me know whatever comes to your mind that would be a cool thing to take back home and show your friends.

Muchísimas gracias, boys and girls!

Edit: For some reason, my pictures won't be uploaded. The following links show those shirts I am talking about:

Buying second hand bike sevilla

Hi, I am going to study a semester in Sevilla and I was wondering if there are any places you can buy second hand bikes? Or someone who sells a secondhand bike, like 40-50 euros max? It doesn't have to be much, as long as it rides it's good. If someone knows other options for bikes, feel free to let me know. I looked at sevici app, but my campus doesn't have any dockingstations for those bikes nearby, so won't be possible.

Hi everyone. I was in Cordoba yesterday and I had what can only be described as cheese on a stick. Anyone know where I can find this in Seville? Thank you from one chunky English girl.

Tapas

Hi guys, visiting Seville in a few weeks (alongside other cities around Andalucia) and had a question about the tapas culture. Is the norm to visit multiple tapas bars in the same night and have one or two dishes at each one, or do people tend to stay at one bar all night? And do individual bars tend to specialise in certain types of food (Seafood/meat/croquettes etc.) or do most places serve the same type of stuff? Additionally any recommendations for particularly good, traditional bars would be appreciated! Cheers

Alternative/quirky bars

Hi all! Apologies if this question gets asked a lot but I couldn’t find anything solid in previous posts. My boyfriend and I are heading to Seville next week, I’m looking for any bars that may play alternative/metal/pop punk etc., or any arcade/gaming bars. Would love recommendations for any weird, themed, speakeasy bars too!
