Quickening?

Anyone have a clue about this name? Why and what was Terri thinking?

I have always felt it was related to the pregnancy term of quickening - the King of the Silver River "rebirthing" the four lands through his daughter.

Well, she is also kind of the polar opposite of Uhl Belk. Belk’s whole thing is permanence and immobility, the Stone King turning the living into dead statues. Hence, Quickening = movement, countering the slowness and permanence, bringing the dead land Eldwist back to life.

I feel like it’s like pregnancy.

She’s the King of the Silver River’s daughter. He felt her Quickening.

And she’s the weapon against the STONE king. Right? His son, Uhl Belk. Who turns things to stone. Stone can’t move.

Quickening is movement.

Idk. That’s just my thoughts on it

Because he liked the name? Because not every name is one you've heard before? Maybe he got it from something, liked it and used it? I like it. My friends that have read it liked it. All that matters is that he liked it.

I get all that. I just find it unusual and was wondering if anyone had any insight.
