Sloppy Diarrhea Vet suggested I add water to the cat's food to help him stay hydrated. I think I messed up. 🙀
So note to self, adding water to fancy feast is not a good idea. My cat recently had a tooth removed and the pain meds didn't agree with him. He wouldn't eat this and I don't blame him. Thankfully he is feeling better and eating/drinking normal now.

Kitten milk replacer works!! Actual Lactose-free milk (not soy, almond, coconut, etc.) Also works but in very small amounts as it is high in fat and calories. Im not a vet, just someone whos had cats most of their life and enjoys watching them thrive :)
Also this does look like poop from a butt 🤣 i often wondered why cats found this stuff so appetizing.

Yeah lactose free milk was suggested. Thankfully he started eating before I got some.
I agree the pate is gross looking in general. The shrimp flaked fish one looks really good though.

You seem knowledable. I found a kitten, three weeks and a few days according to the vet, and we are at 30 hours with no poop. I tried a little pumpkin. Should I just go to the vet at 48 hours?

Maybe try a bowl. My cats would lap this up. I give them soup for dinner.

I should have tried a bowl. He licked at it a few times and walked away like he was too good for it. I made him a fresh plate without the water and he ate it up.

You can also use bone broth over their kibble or mixed into their wet food for extra fluid intake and high protein suppliment.

I think you just added too much water, you want to add a few drops at a time and mix until you get something slightly thicker than soup. You just want to make it more soup like so they can lick it up rather than bite/chew.

I found mixing it up as you go, bit by bit until you get a gravylike consistency, my senior boy enjoys that.

LOL...use a bowl. Also try this: (my picky cat loves it) I put a little bit of warm water in a warm bowl and small handful of his dry kibble. He LOVES it and licks up all the water, then will nibble on some of the saturated kibbles. It is funny, we have three cats and when we give our older guy his "cat soup" the other cats all show up and want some. I'm like, "It's the same food!!" Whatever, fine, I'll make three bowls of cat soup from now on.
Signed, the guy who doesn't have a dishwasher and a LOT of little bowls to wash.

I will have to keep that in mind. My other cat is such a little piggy he would probably eat the food pictured and your way of doing it.

Wet food already has water in it. Cats mostly get their water from food, so ive been told, but my cat literally jumps in the 150 pound syrup tub full of water in my yard when hes thirsty. He eats both wet and dry food but still swims when its 115°f out.

I do that too and it works. Just go easier on the water. Also don’t eat that yourself.

That's like watering down 1% milk. Of course the cat would turn its nose up to that. 🤣

Either less water, or more food. You don’t want to make a soup. Also, try a raw food diet! It’s great for them, plus it’s got a higher water content so you don’t have to add the water. We get our cats raw food through Viva.

I feed fancy feast with water myself. One of my cats loves the it soupy like that, the other doesn’t care. They love the wet food. I always stir it in and put it in a small bowl.

I used an immersion blender to turn my cat's pate or bits n gravy into bisque using water or broth.

You actually did it correctly. Although I guess usually people use a bowl, and it feels like you put way too much water and not enough of the actual fancy feast.

Next time, use a paper towel to absorb some of the water to prevent wasting food. Granted, it’s a small amount to lose, but I’m frugal lol

Good tip. I should have tried to salvage it. Thankfully it was just a spoonful worth.
