Open Mic I just wrote this song and any feedback is appreciated:)

It doesn’t have a chorus yet, but I don’t really know if I want it to have one. Also, this is probably the most honest song I’ve ever written (I’ve only written three).

I genuinely feel like i have better control over my voice when im pooping. Specifically when im pushing. Is there any science to that or am I just imagining things? Lol thank you in advance

Edit: damn i didn't even check the title before i posted, I was still mid poop

Edit 2: this got a little more attention than I was expecting but thank you all, ill definitely try some of the things you guys suggested!

Open Mic First time singing to a small crowd. It was ugly

OK so for context, singing and playing guitar is relatively new to me. I started learning guitar late in life (39yo) and started singing lessons 3 months ago.

My goal has been to get up on an open mic and play and sing a song. I did. I knew it was off but everyone was very encouraging.

Then I watched the video my friend recorded of me playing and OMG. The guitar was pretty good, I'll take it, especially since I was playing finger style while singing.

But the singing, oooooof. It was bad..like really bad. Way off pitch, flat and it was like I threw away anything I've learned in my lessons. I also couldn't really hear myself and i know that played a part for sure, but man.

I want to use this as motivation and learning experience, but I can't help feel like crap about and just imagining how cringe it must have been for the other people who had to listen to that lol.

Open Mic Baritone/bass

Hey so I wanted to reach out and see some recommendations for artists who are mainly in the baritone and bass range in music I feel like they don’t get enough praise and attention as tenors. I’m not really looking for a specific genre of sorts just throw them at me if you will.

Man was I nervous but I’m glad I did it. My singing instructor forgot to turn the audio of the song off so it was more like a Kareoke unfortunately lol

Open Mic Singer/songwriter - is my singing even tolerable? What needs the most work?

I've always considered myself to be a pretty poor singer but have been practicing for a long time at this point. I feel like lately I've started to gain a bit more confidence, and have stumbled into some different ways to use my voice/throat/lungs, where I feel like I'm finally starting to hit notes more cleanly. According to the pitch monitoring app on my phone, I tend to be slightly sharp more often than anything else... but is this close enough to be tolerable, or if you were in a bar and I started playing, would you want to leave?

Open Mic Monstre affreux - Rameau [Opera]

Hello all, after the feedback from my most recent post I decided to post a video of me singing in a concert dress rehearsal an aria (in the video I had never performed before till that moment) that I would like to use for future auditions. Its French, and its Baroque this would be a truncated version of to fit the program! Because it was my first time getting to prep for this concert the staging is a bit unplanned and the timing with the accompanist is not perfect in this video.

Im mostly looking for feedback on my voice, technique and just anything you notice in general, the range of the piece is A2 - F4 and it does a lot of jumping but I think its extremely beautiful and cant wait to improve on it and add it to my repertoire. Thank you!!
