Best Ski/Snow Spots for a toddler

Going to surprise my husband for his bday with a snow trip. We live in a state that rarely gets snow. We also have a 3 year old. What places have a great snow / ski resort. Also what is a good time of year.

Thanks!

Colorado and Utah are the big ones. You basically can’t go wrong with conditions in February. Steamboat has an amazing ski school with good beginner terrain

With the little one along you may want to think about base elevation. Breckenridge has an awesome ski town feel with plenty to do as well as a fantastic ski school, but the base elevation is 9600 feet. Our kids all get headaches if we don’t spend a day or two in Denver to acclimate.

We’ve hit Park City Utah the last two years and would say it’s one of the most kid friendly spots. Not just the great ski school and town access but the 45 min drive from airport to town beats 3+ hours on i70 in a blizzard any day.

Your mileage may vary though.

Considering the kiddo, if you're willing to make your way up North the village at Big White is fantastic for kids. Lots to do other than skiing

Angel Fire in New Mexico is a great option.

It would help if we knew the ski level of your husband.

I would go to Alta/Snowbird without a hesitation. It’s my favorite resort, but now that my kids are older, they need more excitement. There’s not much to do there, but the snow is more consistent than most resorts and how much entertainment does a 3 year old need?
