Gear question Nitro Dinghy vs K2 Excavator

Looking for a powder freeride board to pair with my dancehaul that just doesn’t cut it for the heavy PNW/ tracked pow I ride or the summit lift higher speed runs. Looking for something that floats well and can charge through chop and won’t just come out on pow days

Dinghy only comes in a 155W unless they offer more this year, waist 267 mm. That's limiting for me because I'm a bigger dude at 6'2", 195 lbs and usually run 162/163 lengths. Let us know your specs. I was considering quite a few pow boards but ended up with the Excavator 158 which has a 268 waist. So less volume shifted, a little longer, and should handle some charging and tracked out snow pretty well compared to other pow boards as it's also on the stiffer side from what people say. Might also get a Storm Chaser to try out. Discussion on my pow board escapades: www.reddit.com/r/snowboarding/comments/1mtm1co/new_quiver_pow_board/

6’, 180lbs, size 10 boot. I considered going for a pure pow board but powder freeride I feel is more versatile for my quiver of 2 I’m going for.

Just a heads up the Dinghy does come in a 160cm. We'll also be adding a 150cm in 2026.

As for choice of length both the Dinghy and Squash ride shorter than what you would normally ride. Both have a longer effective edge compared to standard shape decks. u/radryannn we'd recommend a 155W for your specs.

Enjoy.

Thanks for the clarification, sorry about that. I have been looking at it for months and there was only the 155W available, didn't come by any info on a 160 otherwise it would have been a top contender against the others I was considering for next year.
