Hey all, I’m going into my second season snowboarding and I’d like to get into hitting jumps but I am struggling to understand how to properly Ollie.
My question is this: Is this the correct way to Ollie while actively moving? Everything I watch and read says that you jump with both feet but that doesn’t make sense to me when you bend the board for the pop from tension since the front of the board is off the ground at that point with only the tail of the board left to the ground .
This video is the closest I’ve been to understanding. Do you truly only jump off the back foot like in this video?

I hope everyone is having a good offseason here in the Northern Hemisphere!
I’m in search of a board that will help me have even more fun in the trees and pow here in Wyoming.
While trying to decide if my Gnu Hyper is gonna be good enough alone to feed my pow addiction this coming year I thought I’d ask yall…
What’s your favorite board to rip when the snow is deep??? Also, I’d love to read your favorite memory with said board!

I rode this board (2006 Salomon Ivy 151cm) for about 7 years and absolutely loved it. Due to life in general I didn't ride for several years but last winter went on the mountain a couple times. I brought my board but it's dead. Too long in storage, rust, and just generally an old board. What would be a good board for me today that's comparable to, or a better extension of, the Ivy I rode?

Hey guys, I’ve been boarding for awhile now but it never feels like I can get the gear quite right. I’m 6’1” 250lbs with a size 14 boot; think former rugby player. I generally prefer freeride boards & hit any terrain on the mountain except park & big cliffs. Most recently I’ve been using a Burton Flight Attendant 162W but in the last 3yrs I’ve broken the board core twice & my union bindings like 3-4 times because the universal channel simply does not hold up.
I can ride pretty hard & exert a lot of force & I’m wondering what size board I should be looking for next since all size charts top out at 190-210lbs+ & size 11+. Some boards I’m looking at for reference are the Jones Flagship Pro, Mind Expander, K2 Alchemist, & K2 PYL but definitely open to other suggestions. Thanks guys.

Hello, I was curious what are your thoughts on Burton, 32, or any other great recommendations for snowboard boots
I used the VANS OG standard boots and I was having severe pain on my sole of my foot. I later bought remind insoles, that somewhat helped the pain but the pain still happened here and there. Not sure if it’s the boots. It’s a 10.5 and I was told VANS boots are true size to their regular shoes and my toes aren’t crunched up but they are actually snug.
With that being said should I try to size up or just try a different brand boots?
Please help and let me know thank you in advance.

Okay so I found this snowboard on marketplace for only $25 dollars and it was conveniently my size so I got it. When I searched it up on google nothing really popped up except this picture, I’m overall just interested about this board and excited to ride it this season!

Greetings I am 6’, 150lbs, size 11US boot, and really want to buy the Yes Standard Uninc for this winter season. I have looked over the size chart for this board and cannot decide between a 156 and 159.
I am an advanced to expert level rider terrain-wise (not that into the park but love side hits, often drop small cliffs, and catch air wherever I can), and I currently ride a 161 Capita WarpSpeed and a 159 Burton Process Flying V.
I haven’t really rode a board smaller than 159, but I feel like maybe that has been a mistake? I am pretty light for 6’ so I was thinking for the Uninc I would go with the 156. I do like to ride pretty fast and aggressive so if the 156 gets too unstable at high speeds or is more difficult to land jumps it could be a nuisance however.
If anyone has ridden this board and has advice for me please let me know!

There’s multiple layers to this question as I kind of want to get an all around jacket that will be multi purpose, but I’m not sure if all the shells will fit the bill or not.
I’m 43, recently back in to riding, but did a lot of riding in my younger days. Growing up I always rode in heavy thick insulated coats and pants, even snowmobile suits.
I’ve recently been using pants with base layers, but last season bought a Burton AK Tusk bib, and ride those all season with midweight base layers. My jacket is a Patagonia Primo Puff, which I would ride sometimes with a base layer, sometimes just a tee shirt. A few days of riding I got pretty sweaty.
Ao now I’m looking into what to get for a shell but this won’t only be used for riding but also outdoor tasks like snow blowing our steep 350 ft long driveway. Last year we had some snow switch to rain and the jacket wet out rather quickly, and I was soaked/sweaty. Being able to layer and better waterproofing I think would help a bit.
With all this said, I’m looking for the good for riding, good for every day tasks, but also hopefully a good no base layer coat for early spring late fall, especially in the rain. We’re not super outdoorsy, but do a frequent amount of hiking. So if the shell can function very well as a rain coat I’d be happy.
I’m kind of torn between an AK jacket or an Arc’teryx. All of my other gear is AK and Burton except my board and gloves. Kind of feel like a walking billboard with an AK jacket as well, but the quality and warranty are great. I think maybe the Rush would work better as an all around jacket, not as baggy for hiking in the spring or fall. But would it be good enough to have a few layers underneath? I have base layers and I have an AK baker ultra light jacket in case I ever end up riding when it’s absurdly cold, which likely won’t happen as I’m too old to deal with that nonsense.
Riding notes, ice coast, resorts, no park. Not concerned if something is overkill for my riding needs. I just want to see if it’s possible to kind of get the best of both worlds between an excellent riding shell, and one that will be good for everyday light weight wear, especially in rain.
Thanks for your insight

Looking for a powder freeride board to pair with my dancehaul that just doesn’t cut it for the heavy PNW/ tracked pow I ride or the summit lift higher speed runs. Looking for something that floats well and can charge through chop and won’t just come out on pow days

Hey everyone i got a cool burton air board from the 90s but the bindings were all dry rotted and fell apart. I recently bought some new bindings for my current board and was wondering if anyone has seen adapter plate or made or has seen one for sale so i can put my previous bindings on the new board. I can make one(have access to CNC, lathe, drill press, drill and tap, etc). I was just wondering if anyone else has done something similar and would like to share how they did it

Anyone know of a website or group/forum for board trades or trade-ins?
I have a 2023 LIbTech Dynamo 159 that I purchased new in 2024. I’ve only ridden it ~7 times as I just didn’t get to the mountain as often as I would have liked. It’s like new condition. My only complaint is that it’s just a little too stiff for my preference. The board works great when I’m pushing at my hardest, but when I want to back it down the board kinda beats me up and becomes a little difficult to maneuver.
Suggestions?

Hi everyone! For those who care and who were kind enough to offer advice (thanks again!) here is my update on the brand new Ride Compact 146 I purchased. To remind: I usually ride a 151 and I’m 72 kgs, ~170 cm tall.
A few things of the top of my head:
So all in all! I don’t regret it!! It’s a really good first board for me and I’m so happy I bought it. Thanks for all your recommendations and advice!! 🫶🏼

I have tried snowboarding last year: 3 sessions, 4-5 hours each and a buddy of mine showed me the basics and I'm hooked. I will also take lessons next season from a professional and now I also consider buying the gear(while at sale) since renting boots, board and binding cost me €60-70 each time.
I don't have an issue with investing a good amount money for the gear since I want to use it long term. I checked out some and came up with this set:
- Men's Burton Ruler BOA® Snowboard Boots: https://www.burton.com/de/en/p/mens-burton-ruler-boa-snowboard-boots/W25-203171060217.0.html
- Men's Burton Freestyle Re:Flex Snowboard Bindings: https://www.burton.com/de/en/p/mens-burton-freestyle-reflex-snowboard-bindings/W26-105441B27ORG00S.html
Does it make sense that I would invest in this gear as a beginner if I'm to use this gear for couple of years at least or should I just start with a second hand board or sth like that?
I will buy the boots brand new regardless since it's a sanitary issue.
Thanks for help in advance!

I've been looking at these boards and found some pretty good labor day deals, but not quite sure if they're too advanced for a beginner. Any suggestions for my size/skill level would be greatly appreciated. Also open to recommendations for boots/bindings. Thanks!

After a post I made about pow boards I’m looking at the Korua Dart or the United Shapes Deep Reach.
I kinda find these boards to be lot alike.
Is there another board I should look at to compliment my Gnu Hyper instead of these? I mainly am riding trees and groomers and hunting deep snow.
My question would be for me coming from riding full rocker twins & hybrid rocker (Gnu C2X) would I find these boards not as fun as others? TIA!!
