Meeting Someone New

I met someone cool when I was admitted into inpatient at the hospital. We hung out a couple times but I dont know much about him. Im actually a lil nervous and would like to know if he has a felony or anything but dont have much but his first name and year of birth. How would you go about it? Just by intuition, I feel like somethings off but thats just that. Any advice?

Also just met him at a psychward and we hit it off. We exchanged numbers and we hung out maybe 2x. He just made a comment saying that "He hopes i dont leave like everyone else" and for me not knowing him, it kinda threw me off.

well.. if you enjoyed his company and he isnt doing anything toward you that might harm you..

why does it matter if he was a felon? I mean sure its good to know who you are connecting to but people screw up... they make mistakes and they grow.

should a person be blamed forever for some stupidity they have learned from and paid for?

I mean dont give away trust or anything...(or loan money or let them watch your kid, or move them into your house... but you wouldnt do this stuff without knowing them better anyway... I hope.)

As for something being 'off' maybe they are just as leery as you are?

I dont mind but he kept saying "I hope you dont leave like everyone else," which concerned me honestly.

well he might be a bit odd and people leave him and now he has a fear of abandonment..

maybe he is social awkward... or maybe he has mental/emotional issues...

give him a chance.. but like I said dont just give away trust... time will tell if he is faking or a scammer... be watchful in case he is crazy or dangerous... (you'll see signs if he is)

maybe he gets obsessive with friends cause he has none and comes off too eager or overwhelming and runs people off.

some people (like my brother) are just 'smothering' without meaning to be... and they get 'hurt' if you dont want them to 'help you'

you might, next time he says it... ask him 'why would people leave you bud?'

Kind of nervous of that answer tbh lol. Wouldn't know what to do if he says something odd.

hey you never know... BUT at least the cat would be out of the bag and from experience the thoughts in your head are probably worse than the truth.
