Discussion Are Matt and Trey making a point about repetitive jokes? Spoiler
I’m enjoying the new season but the first three episodes feel kinda repetitive. They’ve made the same basic joke 3 times. Which is generally fun but I’m not sure that it’s going to work long term.
So I have to wonder, is that the point they’re making? That constantly obsessing about the same thing is not going to work?

In addition to being a joke it is also a legal strategy.
The “small penis rule” protects against libel suits because the subject being satirized would have to prove in court that they do have a small penis making the portrayal accurate and not protected by parody law.
With how litigious this White House is with everything, the accompaniment of small dick jokes with Trump appearances is probably done out of legal precaution.

I don’t mind the Trump jokes. But it’s been made 3 times already back to back. I feel like it should have happened over the whole season.

I've never seen them write the way they have been so far this season. It's so weird, and aside from episode 1, I do not like this season so far. Episode 3 was the worst, and it was primarily the jokes being so overdone.

I found Episode 3 the best of the season. Especially because I also have serious conversations with ChatGPT haha

Yeah, I've noticed most of the sub loves the recent 2 episodes. Totally fine, everything connects with folks differently. I've used AI maybe one time, don't follow tech bro shit, Ketamine isn't funny to me, and the grifting podcaster stuff wasn't really that well done.
The humor this season just feels lazy and uninspired for what I've come to expect from SP. Episode 1 was such a strong start, but now it's every other week, for more haha Trump has a tiny dick jokes. Which is fine, fuck him, but there's gotta be SOMETHING else to write about.

I remember feeling similarly during season 20. It just doesn't quite feel like South Park. There isn't really any subversion of expectations.
I agree though. Episode 1 was great but it's beginning to feel predictable. It's pretty hard to up the shock value or humor when you go full Trump-weiner right off the bat. I wish they'd quit while they were ahead. That's not to say that I've hated eps 2 & 3, but I wish they'd mix it up a bit.

Same, it was sort of fun at first but then it’s just overdone at this point and kind of a low point for the series. These are not episodes I will watch over and over like earlier seasons

Oh for sure. I don't think they'll really age well either. EP 1 had shock value, but getting review boosted the way it and episode 2 were, is an insane overreaction.

I think they are being censored and their episodes are being hacked to shit

They were specifically told not to show Trumps dick and did anyway. Who tf is censoring them?

The entire series involves making the same joke over and over.

Niiiicccceee ….then two minutes later niiiiicccceee … then two minutes later niiiiccccceee
Chamon! ..then two minutes later Chamon! …Then two minutes later Chamon!
I’m not disparaging it. I’m just saying they’ll often find one good joke then keep hammering it home again and again.
Michael Jefferson saying Chamon! is hilarious. Cartman saying fetuses is incredible. But they do hit you over the head with the same joke a lot. It insists upon itself.

They're making fun of Trump because they hate Trump. It's not that deep dude.
