Season 20 did screw the pooch a bit by not having a back up plan. I remember enjoying the season a bit before the result of the election derailed the season.

33

u/No_Chocolate_7692 11h ago

Yeah the election derailed that season and the whole plot of president garrison to

32

u/OhMySwirls 10h ago

Pretty much. I will give Trey some credit for having to pull an all-nighter to rework "The Very First Gentleman" into "Oh, Jeez" but man... you can tell how much this threw a wrench into their plans.

13

u/Golden-Sun 10h ago

I lowkey annoyed we didnt get 2 episodes.

The Very First Gentleman could have been a nice little what if

1

u/AsherFischell 5h ago

I rewatched it recently and still very much enjoyed it for the most part. I didn't like the SpaceX stuff and the conclusion is pretty weak, but I think they did okay considering everything.

u/DoYouNotRememberThis 11h ago

Season 20 for me. All the episodes just mesh together into one 3-hour long special that could have easily been a 1-hour special.

86

u/Princess_Aurora06 10h ago edited 9h ago

It was more they played into trump losing but that backfired and that’s why the season kinda didn’t feel the same as previous seasons

27

u/Sobotoc4311 6h ago

The first 9 episodes before trump won were not good either. I don't think it was gonna suddenly save the season even if they landed the ending. The problem for many season 20 dislikers is simple. It was rarely funny. Something was deeply off with the pacing as well. Everything felt slower. Even though it was animated it also had this weird point of reference switch thats quite jarring if you watch even newer episodes or older episodes and go back and watch. Nothing about it felt right.

5

u/topkeknub 3h ago

I don’t remember this at all. How did they play into Trump losing?

-2

u/Nothinbutmike 9h ago

Losing*

8

u/DaBusDriva2 8h ago

The troll trace guy is hilarious though.

6

u/Gerard192021 4h ago

omg, now that explains the pandemic and vaccination specials

28

u/fruttypebbles 10h ago

20 was the worst. This was right after Colin Kaepernick started kneeling. I thought that was prime stuff for them to mock. Instead we got memeber berries.

25

u/HANDCRAFTEDD_ 8h ago

But they did mock it … can't make a whole season about kneeling but it was included.

10

u/umairican 1h ago

Please sit, stand, or kneel for the national anthem

u/midsurfer69 8h ago

I memba’ good times

Tell me you didn't Stan your ground without telling me you didn't Stan your ground

3

u/lijubi 4h ago

Is that the season when cartman streams? With PewDiePie references?

3

u/DoYouNotRememberThis 2h ago

That’s Season 18. HappyHolograms and Rehash.

10

u/Alffenrir515 11h ago

They all have their moments. It's been a ride.

10

u/Outrageous_Hamster_6 Kyle Broflovski supremacy 9h ago

Season 20 is the worst season. Too topical, even for SP, Butters is OOC, Cartman/Heidi BS, and Gerald is incredibly unlikeable.

Best part of the season is Kyle being a good boy.

10

u/Yeehaw_Kat 10h ago

Season 21

50

u/TrainmasterGT 11h ago

Season 20 is definitely a low point. I think season 21 is also pretty bad.

3

u/Electronic-Math-364 3h ago

Didn't we get the "Randy being a fan of Christopher Colombus" episode?

86

u/Ryguy3286 11h ago

None

74

u/The-Dame-of-Doom 11h ago

You got tegridy.

27

u/Ryguy3286 10h ago

And I have the Lord, eh. I am Lorde, ya ya ya

5

u/NB-NEURODIVERGENT 10h ago

Best answer, came to say something similar

8

u/paperfett 10h ago

Season 20 for sure.

8

u/VenusNoleyPoley2 9h ago

20 and it's not even remotely close.

124

u/Son_of_Sophroniscus 11h ago

Brother, this season has member berries and skank hunt... It was fucking gold compared to the shit we've seen over the last few years

30

u/MikeDubbz 6h ago

Controversial opinion: 'skank hunt' isn't even worth a chuckle.

-5

u/Sobotoc4311 5h ago

It got a single chuckle out of me though. But yeah. The whole season is down there with Pip imo

21

u/AsherFischell 5h ago

Pip's a hilarious episode

8

u/Other-Barry-1 7h ago

I think 20 is one of the best personally

I don’t think there are any bad seasons, but seasons 20 and 23 are mid.

3

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

I did enjoy season 23 ngl but the tegridy farms intro did annoy me

28

u/Own_Speech_176 11h ago

YES i was about to say season 20

6

u/Bircka 10h ago

A lot of people don't like the serialized seasons, I feel they have some great moments but having an entire season for one storyline is rough.

5

u/Throbbingprepuce 9h ago

seasons 25 and 26. They were too short I remember waiting for season 25 to continue and then I realized that was it and I got pissed.

3

u/Jmacattack626 8h ago

I agree. I think all seasons have their moments, it's Southpark after all, but the ones that were extremely short were a huge disappointmen.

4

u/Ajsapp44 8h ago

Me who likes season 20 🥲

1

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

Ngl i enjoy every other season except season 20

20

u/Maddoxing 11h ago

Why am I that liked season 20, I liked the over lapping story, thought it was a brave choice for a story

17

u/Samurai-lugosi 11h ago

Season 20 is the only season I skip. It just didn’t resonate with me at all.

4

u/No_Chocolate_7692 11h ago

I agree this season just didn't feel right and also barley had any jokes that made me laugh it's also my least rewatched season

-1

u/Samurai-lugosi 10h ago

It’s the only season where I thought “wow maybe the show is losing its magic”.

4

u/First-Lingonberry907 10h ago

I was not entertained with the member berries and Garrison being president storyline (I do like the Sons of witches episode and Heidi focused episodes after she gained weight and had a personality change). The Amazon/bike parade era was also a flop for me

5

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

I did like the Amazon bike parade 2 parter my favorite season 22 episode tho is Buddha box

1

u/First-Lingonberry907 2h ago

Oh yeah the Buddha box episode was okay. That whole season is such a blur I don’t even remember most of the episodes. I liked when other characters had their own episodes like the Pc babies, the moms of south park. Those were good!

5

u/Downtown_Argument_73 10h ago

The garrison trump ones. The story is just a mess, and the point is lost

5

u/Zark_Muckerberger 9h ago

Definitely 20.

4

u/THEREALOFFICALCAFE 8h ago

Not a great season, but it did get me really into Boston, so that was a plus.

2

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

That's good

19

u/darthakinskyvader 11h ago

as much as I love a lot of episodes and bits from season 6, I always dread it for having less Kenny. IT’S NOT A BAD SEASON just my least favorite

32

u/Halewba 10h ago

The past four seasons have had little to no Kenny 🫩

2

u/Electronic-Math-364 3h ago

Kenny probably didn't take it really well that they "replaced" him in season 21 final

22

u/Style-Future Southpark Fan 10h ago

Season 6 was awesome IMO cos it’s when they introduce Butters as a more active character and they mess with him good.

3

u/lbjbig3 7h ago

My favorite behind 8

1

u/Electronic-Math-364 3h ago

It's also have Asspen which was one of the funniest episode

-15

u/No_Chocolate_7692 11h ago

I love season 6 so i disagree

-30

u/omg_Enrico_Palazzo 10h ago

How tf you disagree with an opinion? Not even an unsolicited opinion; You literally asked for it.

Some serious level of brain rot on display

11

u/No_Disaster_4188 9h ago

Do you eat paint? You can agree or disagree with an opinion; it is not like you are declaring it factually incorrect

10

u/Dangerous_Mood8647 9h ago

?? Did you just ask how someone could disagree with an opinion 😭? It isn't as if they said the opinion was shit or anything.

1

u/omg_Enrico_Palazzo 7h ago

Op is asking for opinions. So ask yourself, is it really reasonable to have someone answer the prompt and reply that you disagree whenever the exact season op is thinking of doesn't come up?

Not even promoting a conversation, he's just like "nah".

What's your favorite movie? When you figure it out, just know I disagree. It's YOUR favorite movie you literally can't be wrong. Moron

4

u/Dangerous_Mood8647 7h ago

But OP isn't saying that the opinion was wrong or anything. They aren't necessarily objecting to further conversation either.

They're just saying "I disagree" which is a valid response.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

The thing is im allowed to disagree or agree if i want to lol

1

u/omg_Enrico_Palazzo 6h ago

I disagree.

1

u/No_Chocolate_7692 5h ago edited 5h ago

Ok so you disagree that people are allowed to have their own opinion?

-2

u/ilo-milo 9h ago

Shut up nerd

3

u/GordonShumway8690 10h ago

Season 20 but even then I don't consider it bad and it has its moments. I don't go back to it as often as the others though.

3

u/awjeezrickyaknow 10h ago

Easily Season 21

2

u/No_Chocolate_7692 5h ago

Season 21 was alright but did have episodes that ranged from meh to bad

3

u/hmfynn 10h ago

You can even tell they didn’t want to continue season 20 after the election. But I give them a huge pass on that and think they did as good a job as they could’ve working with what they were suck with. The weirdest choice was probably Caitlyn Jenner as the stand in for Mike Pence. I never got what they were going for with that.

2

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

Ngl i do love they called the last episode of season 20 the end of serialization as we know it

3

u/New_Inflation_2210 9h ago

20 and 21 gosh I HATE them

2

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

Honestly i can see why for both

3

u/mps71 9h ago

I'd agree 20. I don't watch any of the early early stuff 1 thru prob 4 ..

4

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

I love any of the older Seasons for the show honestly the modern seasons are a mixed bag for me

3

u/ApprehensiveRaise511 7h ago

I really don’t hate any season , maybe just biased

2

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

Nah that just means you'll enjoy any season no matter what and i give respect for it

29

u/Acepokeboy 11h ago

probably the first season

18

u/mikeylikey420 11h ago

Trey and Matt agree 1 and 2 are the worst.

8

u/GreatestGreekGuy 7h ago

Season 2 has some great episodes what

40

u/Unlikely_One2444 10h ago

And they are dead wrong

I’d say the last 5 or so seasons are definitely the worst

19

u/takethisnrunnn 8h ago

Help my teenager hates me was one of the better episodes in the last 8 seasons

1

u/Turbulent_Cup_8372 10h ago

And 3 too apparently.

1

u/Nervous-Pain3111 20m ago

The 3rd was low

4

u/massdebate159 7h ago

I'm enjoying the current season. Anything that slags Trump off is golden to me. But where are the kids? The last episode featured Stan for about 30 seconds. I miss the interactions with the main four characters. Five, if you include Butters.

1

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

Im enjoying the new season to also sense they did end tegridy farms after seven years and a whole season dedicated to it so maybe we might see a episode with the four main characters again also im woundering if for season 27 it we will get a collectors dvd boxset again sense we haven't had one sense season 23

2

u/Decent_Diver_7475 8h ago

Just to be different, I’m gonna say season 2. Try naming 5 episodes of season 2.

2

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

Terrence and Phillip in not without my anus

cartmans mom is still a dirty slut

Chickenlover

Conjoined fetus lady

Chief's chocolate salty balls

I also did this because why not lol

2

u/Exciting_Rip_185 7h ago

How come no one ever says Season 25? Only The Big Fix was worthwhile. Pajama Day, Help My Teenager Hates Me and Back to the Cold War are all pretty bad imo. City People and the St. Patrick episode aren’t that good either. Made season 20 look like season 6.

1

u/No_Chocolate_7692 5h ago

Season 25 was alright imo

2

u/MikeDubbz 6h ago

20, bar none. Nothing else comes close to the lows of that entire season.

But at least we know now, where the lowest bar is. As long as any given episode is better than anything from season 20, then they're on the right path.

2

u/TogoreDreemurr 6h ago

probably season 20

2

u/juggadore 5h ago

Season zero was pretty bad. Which one was that? Oh frosty vs Santa? Yeah and that other one with Jesus. Yeah I guess that one. The animation was terrible!

2

u/beenplaces 5h ago

Anything with the new PC and tegrity farm. S14, 15, 16, 17 were peak.

2

u/McFly_505 2h ago

Season 1 or 2

2

u/Hockex-4 1h ago

seasons 20-23 just merge for me, but those are 100% the 3 worst

2

u/HM-Wogglebug-TE 9h ago

Season 20 was great. They haven't made a bad season.

3

u/MollyTheHumanOnion 8h ago

Season 22 has 3 of my bottom 5 worst episodes and the high points weren't that great, so I'll go with that.

2

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

Season 22 did also start tegridy farms which i did like but at the same time they should've ended it a long time ago

4

u/Jmacattack626 8h ago

Season 26 had some good episodes, The World-Wide Privacy Tour and The Japanese Toilet, but it ended with only 6 episodes. That's a huge disappointment in my book and makes it the worst.

6

u/GolfPrior3685 10h ago

My god people I don’t think season 20 is that terrible

2

u/Sobotoc4311 6h ago

It is though, compared to everything else. Well maybe season 21.

4

u/RyanMat02 THEY TERK ERR JERBS!!!! 11h ago

Season 26

2

u/TommyWantWingy9 11h ago

I would have liked season 20 more if it ended with women beating Gerald to death with hammers.

2

Or just a onslaught of women coming up to gerald just to slap him

2

u/jaguarsp0tted but MYEEEEEEEMMMM 7h ago

I have maintained my "beat Gerald to death with hammers" manifesto since I first watched the season XD

1

u/Hot-Psychology657 5h ago

Most of the seasons after 20, obviously some were good but it was mostly just hit or miss

1

u/AsherFischell 5h ago

Definitely season 25 for me. Yes, it's one of the truncated seasons, but I think it only has one funny episode and the rest are some of the worst they've ever done. People can shit on season 20 for being serialized all day long, but it's still got more laughs and more interesting subject matter than most of the crap in season 25.

1

u/Gerard192021 4h ago

that season was such a mess, worst part, the kids became unlikeable

1

u/Giouge95 4h ago

Personally, the twenty-third season. Aside from the episode dedicated to Scott Malkinson, which I really enjoyed (and is in fact one of my favorites), I found the rest banal, boring, and self-serving—in short, it felt like watching a recent season of The Simpsons!

1

u/decoran_ 4h ago

I don't think about it in those terms, I just enjoy and appreciate the show

1

u/JonCee500 3h ago

Season 21 for me I think

1

u/Fitzylives94 3h ago

The member berry season. Unless you followed it from the beginning, it became extremely difficult to understand what was happening in the show. I remember when it was first airing. I had fallen off from watching the show for a while, and trying to watch it during that time was nigh impossible because it all seemed so disconnected and completely different from the rest of the show

1

u/Redditor099911 3h ago

Season 20.

1

u/BuddayBinko 2h ago

Season 24 is 2 episodes

1

u/ginger_fury 2h ago

Yep, season 20 was so bad I pretty much stopped watching the show after that.

1

u/FatalCassoulet 2h ago

Trick question , they're all great

1

u/GuyInGreenHazmat18 2h ago

Season 6 for me

1

u/TJL-91 1h ago

Personally, season 13. I struggled sticking with that season when it was airing.

1

u/Monster0441 1h ago

To me that is the worst season. Not to mention that stupid gender wars.

1

u/newuser1492 1h ago

The Tegridy Farms and Garrison playing Trump seaons.

1

u/Daytona_675 56m ago

Oprah's minge episode is the worst. have to skip it

1

u/Matnificent67 45m ago

Season 15 I find pretty dull

1

u/Grand_Elephant_5489 43m ago

Season 20 was a hard lesson about ego for Matt and Trey

1

u/bigstinky666420 38m ago

Definitely seasons 1 and 2

1

u/GodLorris 29m ago

Season 1 just wasn't right

1

u/Cl1che 25m ago

Tegridy on

-4

u/Longjumping-Algae-66 11h ago

So far 27. But 26 if we’re only judging complete seasons. Still love the new ones. It the shows been on a slow and steady decline since probably season 17. Everything after that was just a little worse each season

1

u/jeruthemaster 9h ago

The Stick of Truth was the last great thing to come out of South Park.

2

u/Sobotoc4311 5h ago

You didn't like tfbw? Imo it was funnier in every way. A noticeable improvement on the first.

1

u/Longjumping-Algae-66 2h ago

I really loved both of those games. Didn’t like snow day but those 2 are 2 of my favorite games ever made

1

u/me239 10h ago

You're being downvoted cause thinking these aren't the best episodes ever makes you a Trump supporter or something... Honestly, this is the weakest season by far and feels like a shitty one-sided Twitter feud from Matt and Trey. It's 3 episodes in and each has revolved around Trump. It's honestly played out and so tiring. Think of how all the previous seasons have maybe 1 episode touching on large events. 9/11, one episode. The 2008 recession? 1 episode. Obama elected? 1 episode. Like it's not even that he's a reoccurring now, the episodes literally revolve around him and his administration. Just come up with something funny again instead of Trump dick jokes.

Not saying it’s not good just not the same. One issue is I’ve Felt like it’s been revolving around politics for years now. Loved it at first but it’s been starting to get plaid out in my opinion.

2

u/No_Chocolate_7692 11h ago

I can see what you mean but also let the season finish and season 26 didn't that season not have anything political until like the final episode?

2

u/Longjumping-Algae-66 11h ago

It didn’t but it was also only 6 episodes. I liked them but if you go back to season 17 or 18 they don’t come close in my opinion. I did love the 5th episode but the rest were just ok

1

u/Thy6LittleRings 11h ago

Season 20 was a bit of a disappointment. And honestly began turning me off from the series entirely.

1

u/WickedConvulsion 8h ago

Season 20 is funny. I really don’t get the hate. Y’all need to rewatch it.

2

u/Sobotoc4311 5h ago edited 5h ago

Actually i just did. Its still the worst and I hate it even more in retrospect. Something is weirdly off with the point of reference on shots and how long dialogue takes. Its something I noticed in the stick of truth video game as well but was noticeably absent in tfbw, which imo is the funnier of the two but the worse game if that makes sense. It just has this weird pause. And if the show had a camera filming it, it seems like that season was shot by a weird action film director. Nothing about it feels right, and the comedy is noticeably dumbed down if not completely nonexistent. But, to each their own. I can see how some might like some of the style choices in how it appears and the noticeable upgrade in the graphics department. But to me its jarring like new aqua teen.

1

u/No_Chocolate_7692 5h ago

Yeah the new aqua teen hunger force season being well animated caught me off guard also south park being referenced in American dad was also jarring to see

1

u/No_Chocolate_7692 7h ago

To each their own

u/Apollo_Dent 10h ago

Season 23.

u/Vice_Reed 10h ago

season 27

-2

u/Venomcarnage1215 9h ago

Def these last couple seasons and current season is awful. I hate that they are so political and not just trying to be funny about the kids antics. I was really hoping for this but they just being lazy.

0

u/Ouija81 7h ago

This

-1

u/jcamp088 9h ago

When they brought in PC Principal I just stopped watching after a few episodes. Seen some here and there since then.

-1

u/VictoryOrKittens 4h ago

The current season, so far, has been absolutely dire. I've been watching the show since s1, life time fan - I've never been so bored. Recycled jokes, nothing going on... nothing thought provoking or memorable... shocking.

Season 20 was also pretty bad tbf, and s19 for that matter, but I still got a few laughs here and there.

-2

u/universalroses 8h ago

Current season
