We’ve decided to remove the word fame to reduce stress associated expectations and negative connotations to the word. Like changing South Central LA to just South LA.

Legally they can’t call it that because it’s just tennis.

By number of TV viewers? Or people who play? Or just the general number of people who have any interest in the sport?

By number of fans. Could be fans of playing or watching, any level of casual probably qualifies

You generally don't become eligible for most of these types of awards until a certain number years after you are no longer active in the sport. Not sure on tennis rules specifically, but in most "hall of fame" situations you can't get in as an active player.

2004 was only 10 years ago, man.

The fact that I didn’t even know she was retired. I thought they just inducted a currently active player.

Which other sports honor athletes who have been suspended for doping?

Her suspension really showed how silly some of the PED discussions are lol.

She took a PED which was allowed, then they changed the list, and her person failed to take note. Essentially, they're all taking PEDs at that level, you just need to do your admin correctly. 😂

Tennis doesnt care about doping, talk about fairness in sports lol. Both the men and women’s wimbledon winners has been suspended for doping earlier and no one batted an eye
