Sanders boys proving that hype can take you only so far.

You should watch the actual play. The dude takes getting hit for quite a while without reacting while the Ref just sits there waiting for Sanders to fight back.

Being overly aggressive with blocking techniques isn't the same as throwing a punch. Sanders was a dumbass for getting baited so easily.

Looks like they’re both engaging in a lot of hand fighting and sanders swings after the whistle.

You should watch the play again. And why the fuck is there no field audio btw? I can’t even tell when the whistle was actually blown to kill the play.
Yes, Davidson definitely should’ve gotten 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct like 2 seconds prior to the slap, and the back judge should’ve nipped it in the bud before Sanders bitch slaps him. But judging by when the linemen stopped engaging, it looks like this went on for about 3 seconds from when the play was killed, to when sanders slaps him, so it’s only a short window to react before sanders escalates.
But either way, this wasn’t close to the level of the Pickens end zone shoving match from last season. And even still, if sanders just shoves him back both guys likely get an unsportsmanlike they offset and we keep it moving. There’s no justification for bitch slapping an opposing player under any circumstance.

Sanders had a hand on Davidson’s facemask dragging him along…I’ll admit there’s irrational hate too, but right along w that is the weirdest takes of defending him I’ve ever seen of a pro player of any sport I’ve followed.

u/Novel-Philosopher660 17h ago
Sanders just proved he’s to small to play in the nfl, he’ll just get bullied like this by all the receivers with size
16
u/I_Poop_Sometimes 14h ago
Lol Davidson is a 6'7 250lb TE, there's not a single DB in the league even close to his size.

u/BirdsAreFake00 16h ago
This is a stupid take. Zach Davidson will make nearly any DB look small. Antoine Winfield, one of the best safeties in football, is tiny. Nearly plant TE on a DB will be a mismatch.

Welcome to the NFL kid. If you act like a circus clown, be prepared to know that the new guys you’re playing against have seen it and are going to try and expose it.

u/humanmade7 7h ago
And you're a pos
3
u/Cakalacky 6h ago
POS for calling a wildly absurdly arrogant family out for being wildly absurdly arrogant? Weird, guess I'm a pos then.
-5
u/humanmade7 6h ago
Wildly arrogant? Deion Sanders is quite literally one of the best athletes of all time and has raised two boys who despite their well documented struggles are doing things right. No baby moms, beating up women, drug use, online craziness etc. Oh okay because he doesn't bow his head and thank you instead of God, he's wildly arrogant? Because he refuses to not believe in himself.. hes arrogant?
The real question is why that makes you so uncomfortable. What's going in your life that you'd get online to gloat about someone else's failure?
Sheduar is literally his own biggest critic when asked how he performed after every game. That man smiles through adversity and says he wont let it get him down. But you want to see him defeated? You're locked into the narrative and optics. So maybe POS is wrong. Sheep or pathetic fits better.

u/Blueballs2130 11h ago
You mean he was getting blocked and pushed back 10 yards? Sanders needs to do better at fighting off the block and this shit doesn’t happen

It’s not racist to dislike a black person. It’s racist to dislike a person because they’re black.

Bingo.
Same story with the Antisemitism brigade on Reddit too. It’s okay to criticize Israel for their actions and has nothing to do with Judaism.

I’m certainly not here to defend this kid and you can’t throw a punch, but I can’t blame him for being mad. Almost seems like Zach was purposely trying to get a reaction.
60
u/Dinosquid_ 17h ago
Davidson was definitely trying to provoke Sanders imo. Regardless, I’d call his reaction a “rookie mistake.” If he played it right he might’ve been able to flop after Davidson’s last smack and draw a penalty instead lol.

Yea, he was in a tough spot. He was wrong, but it was relatable for me at least.
The refs letting that go between those two for multiple plays is the real problem.

u/Particular-Kiwi-5784 14h ago
To be fairrrrrr. This is/was going to happen every game. Warranted or not, because of his name and reputation someone on every team is going to try and bait him. It happens all the time. look back at guys like DK Metcalf, Aqulib Talib guys knew they could get under their skin and did it with regularity. If you’re a bubble guy on the roster , which apparently Sanders was you can’t make those mistakes.

u/Azrael-XIII 20h ago
Yeah and? Players try to get under opposing players skins all the time, good players are disciplined enough not to react and throw a punch right in front of a ref
25
u/MrNoodleIncident 20h ago
And nothing. I said I can’t blame him for being upset, I also said he can’t do that. That was the whole comment.

And yet…Davidson threw a punch first
Edit: Did anyone watch the video? Lol downvoted for speaking the truth 🤷

An adult wouldn't give the reaction. It's not like it's hard to not punch someone.
10
u/RogueOneisbestone 16h ago
Except the adults in the NFL fight all the time. It’s really not that big of a deal.
1
u/The_Pandalorian Michigan 11h ago
If they're fighting (outside of actual combat sports), they're not adults. It's really easy to not punch someone, just because you're mad. Some weak-willed motherfuckers in sports, apparently.
This shit isn't hard.

u/RogueOneisbestone 11h ago
That’s funny coming from a guy who’s team fought over a flag and cheats 😂😂

u/The_Pandalorian Michigan 11h ago
Uh... it was the Buckeyes who threw the crybaby temper-tantrum and started throwing.
And is that really the best that you have?
Can't argue the actual topic, so you go to change the subject. Weak shit, man, weak.

You can tell who watched the game and who just wants to hate for the sake of it.
I’m a bills fan and Zach Davidson was acting like a real chump. Shilo shouldn’t have thrown a punch but the reaction wasn’t outrageous. Refs should have separated Davidson from sanders way earlier. Not a good look for either player on the cut line

Don’t even need to watch the game. I watched the 7 second clip and saw this immediately. Davidson was mauling him like 4 seconds after the play was called dead and when they were 20 yards away from the action. Extremely uncalled for and should have warranted at least a penalty of his own.

Yup...the real story here (per the usual) are NFL refs with their head up their arse.

u/orangotai 17h ago
yeah i have no idea why anyone would think that was "ejection worthy" ffs, guys through little punches all the fuckin time out there, if anything it just hurts their own hand hitting the helmet lol. it's a physical brutal game and this attempt by the League to try to force it to be something it's not is like trying to dress up a pitbull as a golden retriever

If you watch the clip, it's not as bad as the headline. But if you're a high-profile undrafted free agent trying to make a team, you can't let this happen to you.

I don't love Shilo, but he got baited and took the bait hard.
Davidson was all over his facemask after the whistle blew, with no flag, and Shilo retaliated.

90% of y’all just need to admit you’re racist and go home.
Shilo was being provoked. I’m super chill and EYE woulda through a punch. Half of you would have. Why?! Because Dawson was pokin and pokin and probably talking shit. Treat them like rookies, not like you’re teaching them a lesson

The narrative here is so shitty. 84 was an asshole but everyone just wants to hate
-1
u/Rod_XXIV 5h ago
A lot of hateful pricks who either A, have never played a snap of football in their life and really understand the emotion behind such a decision, or B, are just flat hating for the sake of hating. Was it justified to punch him? No, but if some fucker is still smacking you after the play is seemingly dead, you'd more than likely wanna stick him in the face too. To be so miserable and hateful of someone because of what you THINK you know about them as a person, or what you THINK about their family, is some real loser shit. Grow up
