I really don't see the point, not everything needs to be a social media platform

I mean, I can see how this could be useful to some people but its not a new feature that I'm super excited about...

Useless. Why not just staying a music app instead of becoming a multi function mixed salad ?? There are already too many social apps in the world, and when I subscribed to Spotify that was just for listening to music, not to message my friends. Seriously, I'm so disappointed by the recents activities of Spotify, and they said that the price is raising because they want to add more features? I don't want features like message, I want to listen to thousands of songs without ads, that's all I want

Seems weird that it looks thru my DM's in other apps and I cant even find a permission anywhere that would allow it🤔🤔

Spotify already knows what you shared because of the tracked links you get when sharing.

They rolled this out without thinking about the privacy aspect of this at all wtf…

I don’t want my profile shared with everyone I’ve ever sent or clicked on a link from

THIS!! ^ Same goes for me!! But earlier today it linked an unfamiliar spotify user name to a friend i send music to (i send the song link thru imessage)…turns out it was his secret spotify & didn’t want anyone to see his playlists & such OOPS :/ Now every single one of his friends could view his spotify profile! this is a moronic move on spotifys part.

I just ended up preemptively blocking anyone that shows up on my messages I don’t want to know my name because they can’t view your profile either at that point

Users: we want lossless audio

Spotify: here's some audiobooks

Users: we want true shuffle

Spotify: music videos!

Users: we want to see just music on my homepage

Spotify: best we can do is give you messaging

Tbh since I heard about it I was so excited cuz I thought I would be funny to mess with my friend on there for like a day

But then I’ll prolly never use the silly feature again

dont care about spotify anymore, they fell off so hard. they dont care about their user experience anymore. it hasnt been the same since they disabled all the clients released before april 2021 in may 2023. im still sitting here trying to find a way to log in on my 2012 macbook.

Dangerous for children to bypass messaging restrictions on their devices. Already had a friend who's child got sent pornographic content through Spotify. They are likely going to sue them.
