There's nothing like the smooth warm sound of a Vibraphone. Perfect for taking the angularity out of the sharp edges of Bebop. There have been a few players, notably Milt Jackson, who played with this sub genre, but putting this playlist together was harder than I thought at first. So please do let me know if you think there is a track that I missed out.

Inspired by the Grammy winning soundtrack to Midnight in Paris, I've tried to use the original tracks from the original sources, and extend with similar music.
Great for parties, coffee bars or just nostalgic or even anemoic moments at home.

With the help of others here and elsewhere I have carefully compiled and curate a Spotify Baroque playlist (with some Renaissance) that you may enjoy.
Any thoughts and/or opinions or suggestions for further recordings are most welcome!

Come with me on this Jazz Violin voyage of discovery. There were 3 criteria for this list. It has to be Jazz, there has to be a violinist playing a leading role, and that violin player can't have too many streams on Spotify, so as to ensure that I found some players that Ihad not already heard of. So far I've learnt that violin is a wonderful instrument and there are, and have been, a great deal of talented players out there.
Let me know if I've missed anyone out.

Mostly European contemporary jazz, but mixed with some older gems.

A bit bluesy. The occasional touch of Gospel tones. I'm not exactly sure what to call what I was going for here, but it might be the lighter side of Bebop. Pleasee, anyone who knows what this genre might be, or what tracks wood work well here, please let me know.

Let me know if I've missed a name out that you think belongs on this list.

I've used a good old fashioned mix tape approach here. I started with some Django Reinhart and tried to go as smoothly as possible from track to track, through multiple sub genres, ultimately landing on Weather Report.
Let me know if Imissed a track.

This is Hard Bop, but not from the fifties and sixties, this is contemporary jazz that draws on influences from Gospel and Rhythm & Blues. Proof, if proof was needed that the genre is alive today.
Let me know if Ihave missed out any tracks that belong on this playlist.
