- Hi! My startup is just me right now, Tyler Mumford. My first product is called LocalStatus.
- I live in Utah.
- Elevator pitch: an open source tool to help software developers monitor tricky parts of their local dev environments.
- More: It's a command-line program that checks things like files, running services (ports/HTTP), and Git repos. I'm adding more features like database queries and running custom scripts. The plan is to eventually offer a paid Mac/Windows utility that runs the program and displays a nice tray icon.
- This is in the validation stage; the MVP is built.
- I'm the only one, the founder and programmer.
- This month, I'm trying to get feedback from people who use the tool, or from people who look at it and decide not to use it. Is it missing critical features or modes of usage? Are there people who need something like this?
- Programmers in r/startups could help by providing that feedback, either here or in a GitHub discussion. And to anyone who's created a tool for developers: how did you promote it?

Elevator Pitch/Explainer Video BestOfferQR is for selling large items locally that you can't easily ship. Primarily for high value items that people might physically inspect before purchase. BestOfferQR creates a 1 page flyer with a QR code that links to the live auction for the item. For example, you might place the flyer in the window of a car you have for sale. By scanning the code, the potential buyer knows what the current best offer is, and when the sale will conclude.
One use case is estate sales. For higher value items, hang the flyer on the item, let people view it over the first few days of the sale, then have the auction end an hour or two before the end of the estate sale, so that the person can come to the sale, pay for the item, and pick it up. The auction can be seen online, so the estate sale company expands it's potential market to people that may not even attend the sale.

Super cool idea! Though found a few bugs. If you put in multiple destinations it repeats the first location in the plan collection instead of the other destinations. Country level destinations also do not work, I tested with Japan and got no results.

I’ve been in the weeds on a customer service chat app to take a load off of our small customer support team, and let me tell you, your API took a huge load off of me. It’s phenomenal. Initially expected to spend a week or so wiring everything together, then I had Chariot recommended and we were able to be up and running in literally minutes.
The UI to chat with the application is great for getting up and running quickly and fine tuning, then the API is simple and extremely well documented.

How could r/startups help? Are we crazy? :-) I feel like I have the business model on lock. We want strategic partnerships with craft stores/banks/Canva to fund our education, outreach and that really fuels our marketing plan. Where we are currently stuck is identifying the right tech person. We are prepared to offer a generous equity stake to secure the right person. I'm in an area where I don't know what I don't know on the Tech - like most founders (I can hear all of you!). I believe we need to lean into safety for the trust of our parents and to manage the obvious risks of a platform designed for kid sellers. This makes my spider senses tingle that there could be an offshoot business on the tech if we get it right. I believe AI can help us on the safety/security end, also fueling that idea there's more there to develop as another marketable tool in the tech space. But our primary business is basically an Etsy for kid sellers.

The problem is people need a better way to use AI services. Right now you have to write a prompt, which can be tricky and take time. My SaaS solves this problem by offering a UI that gives people structure and options instead of a blank text box.

I feel that the natural language ux of chatgpt is what is so compelling. Not sure I see the point in going backwards to a more ‘bot’ like feel, but I guess less tech savvy users could use some guidance. happy to be proven wrong.
