I’m a solo founder prepping my own seed round and hit a snag: raising on the blockchain, taking USDC (or cards/ACH) and issuing compliant SAFE tokens still feels impossible,
I’m building a tool to fix that, but first I need data. If you’re planning to raise in the next year, could you spare 60 seconds for an anonymous 5-question survey? No pitch, no upsell—just validating whether this pain is real. Anyone who completes it can opt-in for early beta access if we build.
Survey: https://tally.so/r/mBWPOe?utm_source=rstartups
Happy to share aggregated results with the sub once we hit 40 responses. Thanks!

Startup Name
Dancing Decibels (Website is TBD... just needs some final touches)
Location of Your Headquarters
Victoria, BC, Canada.
Elevator Pitch
Music festivals / live music events of all sizes deserves a high quality, rich, interactive schedule, not a PDF or excel sheet, and smaller events deserve something better than only a Facebook page, without costing an arm and a leg.
Dancing Decibels provides an easy to use administrator interface to manage your event and makes your event available in the Dancing Decibels mobile app for your guests to enjoy, providing one of the best scheduling and event app experiences available.
Your data is yours and can be exported to then help build your own website that stays in sync, or simply embed the schedules and lineups in your own. No website, no problem, you can use Dancing Decibels auto-generated website with custom subdomains.
All for around the price of a ticket.
Explainer Video
No video, but the mobile apps contain a full free demo of the on the go administrator experience (feature parity with desktop version) and can be checked out at
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dancing-decibels/id1231795277
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shambatimes.schedule&hl=en_NZ
The main administrator work is meant to be done via the Desktop app for Windows/Mac/Linux but is currently gated and not publicly available.
Life Cycle
Validation
(preamble) The app hosted some free schedules for events I attended for years, with very good user feedback, but those events didn't have all the extras a festival app would need like artist profiles, faq etc. I've now made the administrator interface for it and can support that.
Validation - With the admin interface mostly done (it's missing an integrated payments workflow), I'm in a closed beta reaching out to prospective festivals (cold emails) to use the app for their event and get feedback. I have one sale, and one possible sale I'm waiting for a response on. I was a bit late this summer in being ready to reach out to events, but I have very high interest from a small handful of events for the 2026 season.
I'm also trying to figure out what people will actually want out of the optional website side of things, as the main focus was originally the mobile app side of things. I'm also seeking feedback around what kind of paid add-ons I can create to provide better value for festival administrators. (e.g artist submissions that flow into the schedule reducing input demand from the festival organizer)
Role
Founder (Sole person)
What goals are you trying to reach this month?
In July I have 2 events where I'm personally adding the schedule as a free community event. I'm making sure this goes smoothly and I can gain some more users to help spread the word that it is now a multi-festival app.
The mobile app also contains the administrator interface, so I recently added a free demo of the administrator interface, and I'm hoping that some of the users at the upcoming event will try it out, and maybe that will reach someone who could be interested and maybe I can get some extra feedback from that.
I'm also doing some final touches to the generated website embeddable lineup/schedule in case my current sale is interested in using it (they're interested in the mobile app, website stuff is unclear)
Getting ready for the first official event happening in August.
How could r/startups help?
I'm still trying to figure out how my pricing is going to work in an automated fashion. This app isn't meant to be gated by a sales call which is the norm in this market, it's simply meant to be used with no involvement from me (unless wanted). I like the idea of cost of a ticket as this scales with the size of the event which is really important, but it also makes it complicated to implement. Events I've talked to so far have found the pricing agreeable and affordable for their size and budget, although I still haven't confirmed what interest would be like for the really small scale things.
Some thoughts on the pricing model, or ways that might approximate it would be helpful. Like, would a honor system possibly work, with a terms of service saying it would be looked into, or AI to scan their ticket page etc, or is the whole ticket thing a bad idea and find some other way to model it while still keeping it scaled to any size.
Any feedback on the administrator demo would also be really helpful, even though it's just the mobile version.

Oh Shell! - https://ohsh.dev
Location of Your Headquarters
Based in Texas, USA
Elevator Pitch/Explainer Video
Oh Shell! is an AI-powered tool that automatically converts terminal sessions into comprehensive, searchable runbooks. During incident response, engineers lose valuable institutional knowledge when debugging steps and command sequences get scattered across terminal histories. Our CLI tool records your terminal sessions and uses AI to generate structured runbooks with step-by-step procedures, command explanations, and integrations with tools like Notion, Google Docs, and incident management platforms.
More details:
We're solving the problem of lost institutional knowledge during incident response. Every time an SRE team handles an incident, critical troubleshooting steps and decision-making processes are captured only in individual memories and terminal histories. When similar incidents occur, teams end up repeating the same debugging process from scratch. Oh Shell! automatically captures this knowledge and turns it into reusable, searchable runbooks that the entire team can benefit from.
What life cycle stage is your startup at?
Early Stage - We have a functional CLI tool, web dashboard, and several integrations working. We're actively seeking user feedback and early adopters to validate the product-market fit and iterate on features.
Your role?
I am the founder and sole developer of Oh Shell!
What goals are you trying to reach this month?
- Get feedback from 51+ SRE/DevOps engineers on the current product
- Identify the most valuable integrations and features to prioritize
- Understand how teams currently handle runbook creation and maintenance
- Validate that this solves a real pain point in incident response workflows
How could r/startups help?
Feedback on the product concept and current implementation
Suggestions for additional integrations or features that would be valuable
Insights into how other teams handle incident response documentation
Potential early users who could test the tool and provide detailed feedback
Advice on pricing strategy and go-to-market approach for developer tools
Discount for r/startups subscribers? The product is free for r/startups subscribers, while in pre-launch phase.

Hello hello!
We are building Fiidbakk - www.fiidbakk.com
Registered in Latvia founded by an Estonian-Latvian team.
Serving people all over the world.
Fiidbakk is a simple web widget to collect user feedback.
Our core idea is to allow feedback on websites and web apps as open canvas comments.
This makes the whole process intuitive, and feedback is shown where it belongs.
Fiidbakk can also be used in private mode for internal processes when building new websites or improving the current ones.
We are currently at the validation stage.
I am responsible for UI design, and my co-founder is coding.
As we are a small team, our main focus is to ship usable and quality things. Our current goal is to fully launch the much-awaited collaboration and then notifications. Polish a bit more, and then ProductHunt launch.
/startups could help us with new users. Fiidbakk is free and I truly believe that its an important tool for most startups who care about their marketing website or product. Every user and especially those who give us feedback and share their wins are great motivation.
We don´t have a special discount. I believe our generous free plan is suitable for most to start.
If someone wants to support us I can discuss with my co-founder and figure out a semi lifetime deal.
However I do have a offer. If you are from /startup and sign up and show us a support + ofcourse install the widget.
I will personally do your marketing website or digital product UI/UX review through Fiidbakk widget if you ask.
Nearly 20y of experience with web, brand and product design. I have links in my profile for proof.
I have sold similar reviews online for small amounts $ but startups have paid 4-figure sums for similar service. Just perhaps a touch more documented. Not to brag, but just an interesting fact. One of the clients ordered a similar review from a big agency and paid 5 figures. Yet they said that mine covered almost all of the same, plus much more. It's worth taking 100%.

We're building the go-to platform where homeowners can easily discover, book, and manage trusted local pool pros—and where small pool service businesses can grow without relying on outdated word-of-mouth or overpriced lead gen.
More details:
Stage:
Pre-launch / MVP validation. We're actively testing acquisition channels and early liquidity loops in a few Sun Belt metros (CA, AZ, TX, & FL).
Your Role:
Co-founder – currently leading go-to-market, product, and overall strategy. Wearing many hats to drive early traction and validate the model from both the homeowner and provider side.
Goals This Month:
- Reach initial liquidity in 1–2 zip codes through targeted homeowner <> pool pro matching.
- Test 3–5 acquisition channels for CAC/LTV benchmarking (Reddit, Facebook Groups, partnerships with pool suppliers).
- Improve conversion rate from visitor → homeowner lead with sharper UX and trust signals.
How could r/startups help?
- If you've scaled a niche, fragmented services marketplace, would love to learn how you bootstrapped liquidity.
- Open to ideas on low-cost ways to validate demand density in zip codes (tools, strategies, etc.)
- Intros to others building vertical marketplaces or obsessed with local services.
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about us!

Hey everyone,
Just finished building FileMock and wanted to share the story behind it.
A few weeks ago I was working on a file upload feature that needed to handle different file sizes and types, including some pretty large files. I spent way much time searching for test files online, only to find that most of them were broken. Videos that wouldn't play, PDFs that wouldn't open, audio files that were corrupted. Even when I found files that worked, they were never the right size for my test cases.
That's when I decided to build FileMock. It generates test files directly in your browser:
- Video files that actually play
- PDFs that open properly
- Images in multiple formats
- Audio files with different sound types
- Various document formats (CSV, JSON, RTF, etc.)
Everything happens client-side using technologies like FFmpeg.wasm for video generation and Canvas API for images. No servers involved, so your generated files never leave your machine.
The best part is that all the files are genuinely functional. When you generate a video, it plays. When you create a PDF, it opens. No more downloading random files from sketchy websites hoping they'll work for your tests.
Built with Next.js 15.
Check it out: https://filemock.com
Curious what other file types would be useful for your testing workflows, or if you've run into similar frustrations.

Cinema8 – https://cinema8.com
I’m one of the co-founders, based in Cambridge, UK. We built Cinema8 because we were sick of video platforms that are basically just a file bucket with a play button. Ours lets you host and stream videos securely, but also make them do clickable hotspots, branching choices, quizzes, even shoppable bits with ai sticky hotspot, ai chapterisation, subtitles and more. You can see exactly who watched, when they dropped off, and what they interacted with.
People are using it for all sorts of stuff: onboarding, training, interactive marketing, even small games. You don’t have to mess around with the tech side encoding, storage, delivery it’s already handled.
I’m here to meet other founders who might want to build something on top of it. If you’re from r/startups and want to give it a go, I can sort you out with 20% off for the first year.

u/gutsphere 25d ago
Startup Name/URL:
Gutsphere - https://www.gutsphere.com
Location of Your HeadQuarters:
Boston, MA, USA - but we're distributed globally
Elevator Pitch
I recently launched Gutsphere, a platform I built because I 've lived with gut issues most of my life. It's like a daily co-pilot for people with chronic GI issues like constipation, diarrhea, bloating, IBS, reflux etc.
It helps you track symptoms, build habits, and get weekly insights based on your patterns-like what' working, what's not, and what to try next. Think of as running N of 1 experiment and trying to be scientist of your body. You can check out an explainer video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjKuewQg2Qs
What life cycle stage is your startup at?
Validation.
We launched the minimum delightful copilot. I like to call minimum delightful product instead of minimum viable product because our hypothesis is that bowel movement tracker is not a MVP for a copilot. It needs to add value to entire steps of the GI care journey. I think we have achieved that and now we are testing for daily usefulness.
Also, we believe in dogfooding the product. As some one who has gone through entire journey helps to create the product that we find it useful everyday.
Your role?
I'm the founder and CEO. But also the first patient.
I was declared dead at 9 months from a gut issue. Lived. But grew up with stomach problems. In the adulthood: constipation, bleeding, hemorrhoids, fissures. I was deeply disappointed by the US healthcare. So, I took control and lived constipation free. I documented that journey in my book. Then I realized I could build the thing I wish I had- so I did.
It feels like I didn't choose the idea. It chose me.
What goals are you trying to reach this month?
- Will early users find it useful?
That's the holy grail. It must help them on a daily basis.
How could r/startups help?
Would love the feedback from anyone who's:
Built D2C health or behavior change product
Grown organically via content/community instead of paid distribution
Discount for r/startups subscribers?
Its free.
If you or someone you care about has gut issues, I'd love for you to try it and tell me where it falls short.

I'm not a startup yet, but I've accidentally built an algorithm that would be perfect for building the next big social media, so now I'm preparing for that
Key takeaways:
- immune to bots, fake news, and manipulation
- doesn't depend on ads
- rewards users for quality content
- prioritizes quality over popularity
- influences based on #topics. For example: celebrities famous for #movies don't have the same influence when they talk about #environemnt
Who this is for:
- anyone who believes social Media Manipulation Harms users (politics, fake news, and unfair advantages to corporations)
- anyone who wants a social media to connect to real people, and not be constantly attacked by bots and toxic accounts.
What happened: I built a reputation Tracking tool, and it worked so well that I noticed I can use this to build a social media in which each #topic has it's own influence meter. This means that a professor that posts about #biology for 5 years will usually have more influence in that topic than a movie star with a billion followers who usually only posts about #movies.
Once I noticed that, I realized this is a game changer. This can change social media forever, and my approach took a long time to perfect, so I'm confident nobody can clone it. This is a new social media algorithm.
What am I looking for? I need a really good marketing guy who can do interviews with me 3x a week about what I'm building, and transform that into natural sounding and engaging content. I won't spend on ads, and I don't want "game changer" content. My target audience are people smart enough to know that social media and marketing slogans are a lie.
Ok enough chat, ask me anything. And check out my thread where I go into detail about the product and show a playground version:
https://www.reddit.com/r/defi/s/WRoeUf21R8
Let me know what you think. I'm currently waiting for a grant approval for 25-100k USD to continue building, so this is a great time for feedback and for making sure you get the type of social media you would like to see.
Comment anything you hate about social media, and I'll answer each comment with my solutions to those issues.

Some competitors you should watch for and find your differentiation point:
DimeADozen.ai
FounderPal’s AI Idea Validator
ValidatorAI.com
Competition is good but make sure you're not completely reinventing the wheel and are finding your niche.
•
u/TheOneirophage Jul 16 '25
Thanks!
We have 10-20 products in different stages we're aware of as competitors.
Our main differentiating point so far is going to be integration. Most of our competitors focus on one stage of founding. We want to support folks through the entire founder journey. Save folks from decision fatigue and research by providing (and eventually be an agent managing) their entire founder stack.
How does that land with you?

Nexbuzzer (https://www.nexbuzzer.com) - Live
What we offer: Nexbuzzer is a web app that lets creators monetize real-time voice/video calls by the minute. Think of it as “Time-as-a-Service.” Creators set their own rates and availability, and fans can instantly book and call them. If a call ends early, unused minutes are refunded automatically to the user’s in-app wallet. There’s no need for Zoom links, payment requests, or “check your DMs.” Nexbuzzer handles the entire flow, end to end.
Target audience: Coaches, mentors, educators and influencers (fields like fitness, dating, coaching, forex, crypto, mindset, ecommerce etc) who are tired of giving away free value in DMs and want a cleaner, fairer way to monetize 1-on-1 time.
Would love any feedback or ideas. Excited to hear what you think.

Hello eveyone! I'm new here and this is my firstpost. I have problem with my startup idea, so i'd be grateful if u helped me!
About me, I'm a high school student with many different interests such as programming, and eveything realted to finance. I've been programming for 2 years and have knowlage of Python(Django), HTML, CSS and some knowlage of JS. In 2022 when AI boom started I was fasineted with this technology. I read aboutit, watched videos etc. One day I thought that it would be cool if i made something by myself. I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur, who has a big company. I got a lot ideas and one day i stumble across Librarian, a webapp and whatsapp bot with connections to Google drive, Calendar, Gmail, Notion etc. I thought i would be a greate idea. I started building. Many times i thought about giving up that idea since a lot of AI chatbot already got such a functionality. It's said that if you want to start a business you should solve someone's and your own problem, but, honestly, I don't have it. I thought it would be great if i created a webapp which helps you find ideas for TikTok, Reels video but it's complex and not sure weather it's my cup of tea. Moreover, even GPT can do such funtions.
Guy, what should I do finish that ai chatbot with connections to different tools(such as Genspark or Claude) or focus on something more specific(such as Cursor for sheets) or just wait a little bit and find a problem that I would love to solve?

Doesn't Shopify have this functionality built-in, a recommendation engine?
•
u/entaiceAI Jul 17 '25
You would think so - but Shopify actually only gives you 5 options in terms of sorting the order in which products appear on a collection page. (the sort order of the collection page itself is different than a recommendation engine which typically shows you ~5 products in a "users also bought" style).

Startup Name / URL
Omnispex ( https://www.omnispex.dev/)
Location of Your Headquarters
Remote‑first; Toronto, Canada
Elevator Pitch / Explainer
Engineering teams lose 20 – 30 % of development time digging through multiple codebases. Omnispex maps real code‑level relationships across all your services, so you can instantly answer questions like “what breaks if I change this?” or “which files power our billing workflow?” A hybrid of static analysis and targeted AI keeps answers reliable while slashing costly context switching.
More details
• Life‑cycle stage: Validation (MVP built; early‑access launch planned for August 2025)
• Your role: Founder / Engineer
• Goals this month: finalize early‑access feature set; refine developer documentation; collect feedback from engineering leaders on top pain points
• How r/startups can help: share experiences with multi‑service “code archaeology,” suggest must‑have integrations or workflows, and connect us with teams willing to give feedback (no install required yet)
Why We’re Different
• Cross‑service intelligence built specifically for distributed systems and microservices, not just single‑repo search
• Hybrid static‑analysis + AI engine delivers accurate dependency graphs with contextual answers
• Focuses on real code relationships and business logic, moving beyond document or package search
• Developer‑centric design targets impact analysis, feature discovery, and other day‑to‑day engineering questions
Early‑access announcements drop in August 2025, happy to dive deeper or answer questions in the comments.
