We made a smart tracker for the count of water. It is more than a smart bottle. Tracker that would attach to any bottle and inform when and how much water should you drink. Of course, it should synchronize well with 3rd party apps.

I decided to concentrate on 3 basic features:

Water tracker that counts the amount of consumed water
An ability to attach tracker to any kind of bottle
Reasonable price: the tracker should be cheaper than any smart bottle on the market

What can doing our device now:

Measuring the amount of water in the bottle

Sharing the data between the device and smartphone

Updating via smartphone

Calibrating any bottle side (performed during the first setting and influencing the correctness of measures)

All airlines/air operators need a logbook for each of their aircraft (by law). There are many big ERP-like players in the market but all the small/medium size operators are still using paper logbooks. Logbookr will be the first web and iOS logbook app.

The app is very dead simple to make, imagine if every time you drove your car you recorded where you went, when you left/arrived, your oil temperature, oil pressure, etc. You must also record if anything on the car broke on your trip, and what was done to fix it. The app must also show when your next service is due (so you don't drive longer than that). That's it.

New entrants: We have a lot of IP that really differentiates us. We've built our own remote desktop software using cutting-edge tech such as GPU-accelerated video encoding and a custom UDP-based networking protocol. Ultimately, it makes our product more responsive (lower latency) and have better visual quality, higher FPS, etc. Also, we manage the virtualization layer ourselves, which allows us to build out features that deliver better price for performance. Both of these areas are really challenging to compete in.

Software partnerships: This is a cool idea and something we will continue to explore. We're already an Autodesk partner and we'll continue to build other partnerships.

Cost of hardware going down: With 3D workloads, there's almost always more complexity to add. More lighting simulations, more complex models, etc. Even if powerful hardware becomes cheap, we still help on the dimensions of not needing maintenance, remote accessibility, etc. Cheaper hardware reduces our costs too.

I know maybe your focus is 1:1 but why not also consider more than that? For example create groups and match people together into them. I think thatd be much less intimidating in so many ways. For example quick idea.. create activities “beer” “Saturday coffee” “Sunday yoga” “early morning work out” “wine night out” “spa day” “July concerts” “September concerts” and have people sign up for the activities they’re interested in. Then, match those people accordingly and fill up groups of meet ups if possible. This will help take the pressure off figuring out an activity, which is the next step after trying to somehow work out a conversation/connection which is where often things will die out. It’s always intense to make the “hey maybe coffee??” happen, on top of having an already ok connection going on which like I said may be tough to happen just because of people’s natural awkwardness at times. Set preferences like 1:1 or 1:2-4. Stuff like that. Group chats can be great and ignite lots of cool conversation more easily. Just because it’s less intimate. I have a feeling that would be a lot better than only 1:1 and maybe even preferable often, sometimes 1:1 is just awkward/feels unnatural and feels perhaps pressured. By nature we’re super social beings and often 1:1 relationships are only with people very close to us, like family or romantic partners. I think friendship and such can always develop far more easily in groups, it’s in our nature! Plus, activities. Super cool I’d think if you did this. It also feels safer just to have a gathering with more people, and also having more people involved makes you feel less intimidated because now you have a mutual several-people feeling of “awkwardness” which takes pressure of one to one person (I think the whole inevitable “intimacy” of being one to one is what adds the pressure sometimes a lot). It’s like you’re spreading the pressure across more people than just one to one. Compare. Being in a school project with one unknown person versus two or three others. Also. I’d LOVE to use this if you brought it to the u.s hahah get it working man! I’d love to wake up to a “Your pod has been filled! You are now in group 5890. Say hello!” (Maybe giving each new created group a number will automatically bring people even closer, giving them now two things in common which psychologically will reduce pressure and ease the flow, like being put on a group project for school and you have the group # in common - will induce easier communication than: ok you’ve been matched now get it working somehow !!). Group number will make you feel you are part of something together, a crew. You might even remember it one day if friendship works out! It won’t be a vague list of random people. You’ll remember lists of groups you went through, and you’ll remember the memorable ones. Just some ideas ! Then again keep the basic 1:1 if you like, and multiple group general matching without activity sign up required in case people just wanna figure it all out on their own. But try stuff out and see what people will choose ;) Games online at first can also be good as others have suggested. Anyways. Go get it man!! I hope to hear of this one day out there :) happy sailing!

In general, Pipewing will do the matching. So malicious users can't target someone specific. Then, after each video call, we ask the users how the call went. A malicious user could have a very short call only once.

Perhaps I'll introduce questions about the city after signup. These are visible to the other person who can accept or dismiss a call with you. E.g. "What's your favourite caffe in Boston?".

These hurdles should make it hard and unattractive for malicious users.

Months back I saw a similar one in ProductHunt named Mugshotbot. It seems similar to your concept. If it helps, have a look.
Your concept has a great potential to become popular. The first & foremost place you need to aim is none else but content marketers, blog owners, bloggers, guest posting sites etc..

Push the offer you mentioned here to as many startup groups.

Slack groups - there are many slack groups out there which you can reach out with the offer. Let me know if you would like to, I can introduce you to some of them.

Fb groups - There are many fb groups (public & private) focus into blogging especially the ones which teaches blogging.

Giveaways - Plan a giveaway in twitter & in selected groups (any platform). Make it meaningful, your offer is a perfect one for that & get ready to get some cool traffic.

Twitter - Get tweeted by those are having some good followers. Try this twitter hashtags #blogging and related keywords and reach out as many handles with your offer. In another way you can target #thumbnails as well which will get you into some eyeballs who are in the niche.

First time bloggers/newbies - I think these might be the guys which might become your first set of customers, those who doesn't have designing skills or feel it like a hassle to find-edit-upload images.

Listicles - There are many listicles in the niche that you can get featured even more than you think!!!

Tie up with theme builders - This might be something that you can try after building a good user base. So that it would be mutually beneficial.

There are many other places or strategies as well, you can get the word out.

The site actually works for finding a partner. 11 couples, who met through the site, have reached out to me. Recently Wanderer & FIRECracker from Millennial Revolution even made an interview "FINDING LOVE DURING COVID" with the couple #5 - Ms.X and Liam. It is an amazing story, which involved them meeting for the first time in... Barbados. Worth noting that together they will be FIRE in only 2 years instead of 5-7 years. Wanderer & FIRECracker did an interview with me too. With 4 couples I did interviews: Ms.X and Liam (couple #5), Will and Julia (couple #6), Taylor & Cody (couple #7), Ellie and Mr.X (couple #9).

Suggestions on some steps for user acquisition which will work for you.

There are many developer related slack & discord groups which you can publish the tool. Push the free one as much as possible. People love using tools especially free ones.

Same like above developer groups in fb is also a great resource.

Publish a post in Indiehackers & answer as many as posts related to the development/tech related.

Here in Reddit - Be active on r/devops r/Development etc.

There are many other places or strategies as well, you can get the word out.

In 2019, live video grew by 93% with an average viewing time of 26.4 minutes per session compared to the average video length on YouTube (4 minutes and 20 seconds). In fact, live videos hold users’ attention 10-20x longer than pre-recorded, on-demand content.

Cambit is a live streaming platform where sellers can engage with buyers to enable scalable commerce.

The traditional e-commerce experience is highly focused towards intentional buying (I want something, I go to Amazon, I press buy). Live engagement between buyers and sellers not only enables unintentional buying but makes intentional buying more exciting and engaging (think of as going to the mall, enquiring about products with store owners, and then buying the product straight from your phone).

So for lack of better terms, it allows you to live FaceTime with an associate?

Interesting concept especially with COVID making things so much more virtual.

It could also provide a much more tailored shopping experience since you could provide live feedback of what you like/don’t like about a product and receive recommendations on the best product to fit you needs.

Shoppers surely would still approach a site for intention of buying, but this would add a new layer of engagement and open up new products that customers were not initially aware or interested in.

From a scaling perspective, this would also mean needing associates on call for more than the 9-5 work hours, as someone on the west coast vs East coast could be shopping during off-ours for associates.

It also makes me wonder if this could open up the opportunity for people to sign up as an associate and choose when they want to be available to be “on call” for engaging with customers... during high demand hours, they could receive a “surge” hourly rate similar to Uber.

Just spitballing and thinking out loud but neat concept on your part and look forward to hearing about how it develops for you!

Disherz is the first food ranking site that allows users to rank their favorite dishes compared to other dishes in the area. Users can search for the top ranked dishes overall or in a specific category no matter what cuisine they are craving.

The main ideas of Disherz are; 1. The focus is on dishes and not on Restaurants so that people know exactly what to order and can easily find the exact dish they want to eat. 2. Everything in the site is ranked. In order to add a dish, you have to rank it. Every user has an overall favorite list and can also create custom top 10 lists (Top Mexican Dishes, Top Burgers, Etc...). 3. The site focuses on the positive. No room for negative reviews or negative comments.

I am focusing on launching in Dallas, Texas. Most of the content on the site is in and around Dallas, but anyone can start using the site and adding content no matter where you live.

The site just launched last week. The hope is to prove the concept in Dallas and then focus on expansion and expand on the features.
